TV tip -- African history
Im Bayrischen Rundfunk wird momentan eine Dokumentationsreihe der BBC über vorkoloniale bzw. antike Reiche in Afrika gezeigt. Bisher liefen 3 Folgen jeweils über Nubien, Äthiopien und Simbabwe.
Verlinken oder einbinden des Stream geht scheinbar nicht. (Gibt es eine TV-Mediathek bei der man als Nutzer keine grauen Haare bekommt?) Versucht es hier und sucht nach "Geheimnisvolle Königreiche in Afrika".
Die nächste Folge heißt Westafrika, sollte aber die Folge über Benin (ex-Königreich, nicht heutiger Staat) sein. Es geht zu einem guten Teil um die Benin Bronzen, die im British Museum in London ausgestellt sind.

For the english-speaking folks, I was just pimping a BBC documentary currently shown on German TV about several former African kingdoms called The Lost Kingdoms of Africa. It's a great series. The documentary covers several kingdoms in different parts of the continent. My favourites are about Nubia and Benin.
