background: we all have to do a presentation each for this GV467 (intro to comparative politics) class. I'm listening to the recorded lecture now, and I just realised why I volunteered really quickly to do the presentation on this week's topic, counterfactuals. the lecturer just said alternate worlds and I thought, OH YEAH, ALTERNATE WORLDS. it slipped my mind how much I love AUs. :3 and this topic is pretty much the formalised logic behind AUs.
...also, at the end of the lecture, because it's relevant (it's actually relevant!) he plays the OK Go rube goldberg music video. WHICH I LOVE. the song, but especially the video.
-- this is actually a pretty dry class which I suspect everyone hates, but I find it really fascinating. :3 it's all logic and qualitative methodology and academic rigour!
