"razor-thin margin"
I was pretty sure I was voting for who I saw as the right person for president, when I voted. then I saw him on television smirking when he was trying to keep from announcing that he'd won, which was when my heart sank and I thought, oh damn, I've voted the wrong guy into power.
it was quite a horrible feeling.
oh well.
maybe next time I'll go with my first instinct rather than cold pragmatism (and this was the presidency! I'm not convinced that the room for error for a president of singapore is that great anyway). I mean. I think I forgot that this is a democracy, not a meritocracy.
