So this is the first time that I'm updating this before I write in my Russian journal (which is where I attempt to write about my day. In Russian. To practice. ...It takes some time.) Also the first time I'm posting about the day on the day I'm talking about. Firsts all around!
So I spent the majority of the day with Larisa. I woke up around 7:30am again, and relaxed on my own until around 10 or 11. I read some (Nabokov, Laughter in the Dark. Got through over half of it on the flights), I listened to music, I did some grammar work, I did crunches while listening to the Dudes on Hockey podcast (yes, I will continue to follow the Sharks!). All in all, fairly relaxed. Today was the first day where there was a chill, but mostly because it rained for most of the day.
After me and Larisa had lunch, and after the rain stopped, Larisa took me to many of the big tourist sites. (Independence Square, St. Michael's and St. Sophia's) I really liked seeing them, but unfortunately my camera died. So, I will just have to go back. (How will I find the time before December? I just don't know.)
Me and Larisa talk in a very interesting mix of mostly Russian with a little English thrown in. I normally also do a lot of listening, like today where I heard more about her time in Latvia, and about the trip she wants to make to her sister who lives in Russia. It's good practice, and interesting. We were pretty tired when we came back, but we ate some food, and now I've headed up to Anna's to check in with her. We will likely have tea later. Mostly the rain interested me today. I'm really happy I brought all my sweaters and stuff for when it gets colder.
And... link to pictures!
