Onlynotreally. I'm really bad at intro posts, so here goes. I'm gen, and I recently got accepted to play Rishfee from the absolutely amazing FFXI storyline expansion treasures of aht urhgan! Rishfee... is a nice sort, really. By trade, he's a genetically spliced and augmented Blue mage and part of the elite Immortal Lions unit of Aht Urhgan, charged with protecting the Empress, logistics, providing support to bossing around the Imperial army and covering up the Empire's dirty secrets. Unfortunately, he was kicked out of the storyline via nasty-but-heroic death before things got too heavy plot-wise, so he's bound to be a little confused at finding himself here.
As mentioned earlier, he is a Blue mage, and by FFXI standards that means he isn't human any more. Blue mages are people which have forsaken what it is to be human in exchange for becoming truly powerful, after being scouted for suitability. Injected with a mixture of Cobalt and Chimera blood, A person ceases to become a person and gets the unlimited power they wish for, Blue magic - but run the risk of being overtaken by the monster inside and turning into a Soulflayer as their power pushes their innate limits. And Soulflayers really, really, really really really aren't nice. Trust me on that. they're fucking terrifying.
Rishfee was an orphan until he was taken in by Raubahn and raised alongside fellow orphan Amnaf in an elite unit of Blue mages known as the Immortals. The best of the best, Raubahn's involvement as Captain of the unit made Rishfee and Amnaf decide to become Immortals themselves as they grew up. Citizenry fear the Immortals. The military despise them for the monsters they are. Each Immortal is said to be worth 10,000 soldiers; and they are very much prized by the Empire of Aht Urhgan.
