Event - Get Ready to Party!

Aug 21, 2009 16:05

[The familiar squeal that serves as a prelude for the General Manager's announcements rings briefly throughout the resort. All audio and video feeds are temporarily hijacked as the General Manager's face appears on every screen, nearly split by a giddy grin.

More notably, there is a huge, pink plumeria flower tucked above his left ear, he's wearing an absurdly loud Hawaiian print shirt, and to top both of these, the young man is chin deep in leis.]

Helloooooo everyone! Welcome to our newest guests! I do hope you've all been enjoying the gorgeous sunset we've been having…

Oh, by the way, we still have items recovered from Agabail at the Main Office, so please come pick those up.

[He blows a stray petal away from his lips before he continues.]

Though we've had a few… eh, technical difficulties with setting things up, we're finally ready to party! Hope you've all got your grass skirts! I know I have…

[Sparkling blue eyes cut to one side during the awkward silence that follows, though he's in such an excellent mood he hardly seems to care.]

Anyway, we'll be having the luau from now until whenever the food and fun runs out!

[The smile plastered on his face dims slightly.]

… or when the night cycle comes around. Whichever comes first, I suppose. Ahem. Now, we'd love for you all to make your way to the northern side pool where the party is starting right now.

Oh, and for our sun-and-life-challenged guests, there will be a very special punch served this one time only, so go help yourselves! Please don't let it go to waste, as it was rather difficult to get…

[Tribal drums can now be heard throughout the resort as the General Manager raises a coconut with a straw and paper umbrella poking out of the opened top]

Have fun! A hui hou, my friends…

[He sips his tropical drink, coughing and muffling a few small choking noises as the feed cuts, returning all audio and video to normal.]

Notes: Feel free to pig out as much as you like! Everything listed below is available in vast quantities, everyone is encouraged to eat their fill. Considering the party will involve most everyone in close quarters, it is not necessary to use the PDA's for communication, however, journal entries can still be used, but action tags are more than welcome for this event. If you're calling to someone not at the party yet, then of course call them on the PDA with a voice tag. :) Activity monitoring will also resume from this post, as well.

The area by the pool has been decorated in full island-party fashion: streamers of lights, soft regge music, and all around beauty. Acairnia does "clean up good" every once in a while. Staff and servers are puttering around here and there, offering snacks on trays and the like, and the buffet table is ready and waiting.

If our resident vampires are in need of a potent sunscreen, please let us know in this entry and we will have some delivered. :)

Below is the menu for the luau. Please note that while beverages for minors and adults come in the same flavors, they are served from separate bowls by the staff. Only adults will receive the special punch. This also applies to the blood punch, which is set aside on its own table.

Oh, and by the way? All the punch except the Watermelon punch - which is for the children only, adults will not be served this flavor - is laced with a quite potent aphrodisiac. This concoction was developed especially for the residents currently on the island, so everyone will be affected by it. It's tasteless and mixes quite well with all flavors of punch into which it's been added. So, when the server just grins and hands you your cup, don't be worried, it's perfectly safe, right?
