Sitara was just stepping out of her Cabin, E, with plans to head down to the snack shop (although she couldn't wait till the clothing store opened again; her closet was still empty and she hated going barefooted) when she spied the newcomer headed down the sidewalk.

Although not quite as hesitant around people as she'd been when she'd first arrived, she nevertheless paused but gave him a shy smile just the same. She didn't speak - her fears were still very ingrained, but she was learning, learning that not all humans were as evil as the Na'ar had declared.

Spying the older woman out of the corner of his eye, Jono turned, and gave her a brief nod. He was overjoyed to finally see another person on this island, despite his earlier contact with Betsy and Yuffie.

"{Uhh...hullo there. You got a name?}"

Bracing himself for the woman's inevitable "first psionic communication" freakout, Jono stopped, and waited for the woman's reply.

Surprisingly, Sitara was well versed in the means of mind-to-mind communication. She'd been raised on it, after all. Thus, the echoed voice between her ears was different, but not a horror.

She just put arms around the column of the banister and rubbed the back of her leg with one bare foot. "Sitara," she called quietly. "Sitara Morgan."

Glancing around to make sure no one else was witnessing his incredible feat of awkwardness, Jono quickly unbuttoned his cowl, to show Sitara why he wasn't speaking like a normal person, lest her curiosity get the better of her. He quickly flashed the "fire" that inhabited the space where the lower half of his face and chest use to be, before buttoning it back up.

"{'S a pleasure ter make yer acquaintance, Sitara. Mebbe I'll see yeh 'round?}"

Gesturing vaguely northward, Jono began walking again, briefly looking over his shoulder at Sitara again.

"{'M gonna go look for me cabin, 'fore night decides ter fall on us. If yeh know where K Cabin is, I would'na mind an escort, seein' as how I know next-to-nothin' 'bout this place.}"

Jono stops again, waiting to see if Sitara will follow him or not.

She blinked at what was revealed, but really, having survived a few nights here, nothing fazed her much anymore. A hard irony, considering.

A corner of Sitara's mouth quirked. "It is, considering you know who I am and I don't have a clue who you are." She stepped down the steps as he passed, saying lightly and gesturing behind her, "This is my cabin. Letter E."

Glancing down the sidewalk, she chewed her lower lip for a moment. "Um...K should be right down there. I'll show you." She fell into step with him but kept a respectful distance. Still, she couldn't help but pick up on his fear.

Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, she murmured quietly, "It's all in your head, you know. The insecurity? Believe me, that's one thing I've learned since coming here..."

Slowing his pace a little to accommodate his escort, Jono watched Sitara as she walked. Everything about her was measured, controlled. In a way, she reminded him of Emma Frost, his former instructor.

"{Well, if it'll satisfy yer curiosity; m'name's Jonothan Evan Starsmore, I was born in London, an' I'm a mutant who blew his own face up at the age o' 17. Satisfied?}"

Jono "smirked", and clasped his hands behind his head, his duffel bag hanging loosely from his shoulder.

"{An' it's not so much insecurity, as it's cautiousness. I been through a fair a bit o' weirdness in my life already, so this is about par for th' course fer me. I'd rather not get into a row so soon after gettin' here, is all.)"

"I'm from Chicago," she offered. But mutant was an unfamiliar term; she'd heard several unfamiliar terms since her stay here, so she just accepted it as a peculiarity of "his" world. After all, everyone here was from "different worlds", so why should anyone show up that was from hers?

Shrugging, Sitara conceded his point. "Perhaps. But it still affects you, no matter what." She stared at the sea, the sunset still blazing out over the ocean horizon. "I won't lecture and say 'accept it and move on', because I haven't honestly done that myself."

Blinking, she realized she was prattling and blushed shyly. "Sorry, I'm being nosy." Glancing up, she nodded towards one of the identical cabins. "Cabin K's right over there, Jonothan. Your key should open the front door."

Shrugging, Jono dropped his hands, and pulled the duffel bag up, securing it more tightly to his side. He saw his cabin off in the distance, and nodded.

"{No worries, luv. Yeh don' know me from Adam, an' I'm not 'xactly the 'sharin' type, so I dun blame yeh. Thanks fer yer help, anyhow.}"

With that, Jono walked towards his cabin, briefly turning to wave at Sitara, before unlocking the door with the key he'd pocketed earlier.

"{I'll...uhh...I guess I'll see yeh 'round.}"

With that, Jono opened the door, and walked into his new home.
