Even though she'd asked Jono to come, some cynical, doubting part of her didn't actually expect him to. The beast had slowed it's attacks after she'd unloaded an entire clip of ammo into it, keeping herself between Maggie and the beast just encase it decided to launch itself at it's wounded prey. Heather's eyes sharpened, she saw the hairy, ugly animal twitch and move. She knew this was it, the moment that it was going to unleash its retaliation on her, and with no melee weapon at hand she knew it would probably be able to tear her in two no problem.
She scrunched her eyes, readying herself for the imminent, fatal blow but just as she did she suddenly heard a sudden roar of noise. Her eyes shot open again to see the thing burning and by it stood a young man. Surely it's not him... she thought to herself, but as soon as the words crossed her mind, some other train of thought ran through her head. And it had a British accent.
She jumped and looked from the beast, to Maggie and then back to "... Jono?" she had seen him over the PDA, but it was quite different to see a flaming man in the flesh... Or in the flames, as it were. That's... so cool.
A moment of silence passed as she absorbed what he said before turning back to poor Maggie, she didn't look in the best of ways... Heather cursed herself for arriving so late.
"I, uhm... I don't know." she stammered, what a pathetic answer. "This... thing hurt her, cut her... I..." Heather's brow furrowed, she'd been alright taking care of herself but she had no idea about first aid and was beginning to panic. "I don't know what to do." she confessed, catching Jono's eyes for a moment, although as she'd never actually admit it... Heather was scared. "Can you take her back?"

Circling around the beast a bit, so that he stood between it, Heather, and Maggie, Jono nodded.
"{Yeh, i's me, Heather. I woulda gotten 'ere sooner, but there were bits o' me missin', from the last beastie tha' attacked me. Ended up takin' longer'n I expected, ter get healed up good an' proper.}"
Firing blasts at the beasts feet, to get it to back off, Jono looked at Heather.
"{It'll prob'ly be better if we go back together. Safety in numbers an' all that. I wouldn' wanna leave yeh to fend fer yerself against somethin' like this, we ain' as strong as some o' the other blokes 'round 'ere, after all.}"
Jono spoke as much about himself, as Heather. Knowing that she was a "normal" human, and Jono's powers weren't anywhere near peak capacity, he knew they were better off staying together.
[Here's Maggie]themiddlesisterSeptember 21 2009, 17:49:57 UTC
Maggie didn’t know what she was doing for the most part. She had been confident--perhaps too confident--about her ability to fight. Yet, here she was, being protected. At well over six feet tall, she should have been able to hold her own…but without a weapon, the best she could do was lean against a wall and rest. She didn’t speak to either Heather or Jono; she only watched, holding her stomach to keep the rain from getting in. Luckily, it wasn’t a fatal slash, and it wouldn’t become one any time soon. She had been fast enough to avoid getting torn in half; she was just trying to stop the bleeding.
After watching them circle the buggane, she eventually shut her eyes and didn’t open them again. She had to calm herself. Michelle, she knew, would be disappointed in her. The most mentally stable of the three sisters could handle this with ease…and the whole situation reminded her that she would never be as strong as her older sister, now matter how hard her own punch was. When she opened her eyes, she moved away from the tree and stood behind heather. “I…I’m sorry, but…” She looked away and shook her head. “I should’ve come for the weapon.” She couldn’t bring herself to talk to Jono because she didn’t know who he was…and she was more comfortable around women, anyways.

"No," Heather turned to respond to Maggie firmly, and although her voice was somewhat authoritative there was a definite sense of nervousness or even pity in her expression -especially her eyes. "I said I was going to bring it, but I didn't bring it in time." Heather felt a terrible guilt for this and as much as she tried to conceal these feelings, they were definitely there.
"Jono," she turned back to her new friend "can you take Maggie somewhere safe where she can be patched up?" Heather knew she'd be fine by herself. After all, that was nothing outside of the norm. She was used to being alone now...
[no worries :-D]decibel_chamberSeptember 28 2009, 02:19:21 UTC
Scanning the area, Jono became painfully aware that the creature that had been attacking the three of them was suddenly nowhere to be seen. This worried the young man, as his eyes darted back and forth, trying to locate the monster. He looks over at Heather and Maggie, determination set in his eyes.
"{And what kinda man'd that make me, leavin' yeh ter try an' fight this thin' by yerself? I don' know how many bullets yeh got, but I do bloody well know tha' it won' be enough...}"
Jono was distracted momentarily, from the sound of Cabin N being torn apart by Cerberus. He turned inward for a moment, trying to think of the best course of action. He looked again at Maggie and Heather. Maggie was just confused, and hurt on top of it, and Heather was putting on an awfully brave face, considering what they were confronting. He looked towards his own cabin, Cabin K, and remember what Aerith had told him.
"{C'mon, you two, le's just get the bloody hell away from 'ere. M'roommate, Aerith c'n see t'yer injuries. I get th' feelin' that Cabin N's not a safe place t'be righ' now...}"
Gesturing towards his cabin, Jono looks pointedly at Heather.
"{Tha' means both o' yer. I ain' leavin' anyone ter th' beastie, n'matter what.}"
With another careful scan of the area, Jono waved for the two women to follow him. He wasn't very good at the whole "hero" thing, but the least he could do was get Heather and Maggie to someplace he knew they'd be safe.
