there is something excellent about becoming great friends again with someone to whom you were very close when you were a child. you have experiences and ideas in common that you don't with others who you met at a time when you were more mature and fully formed.
in a sense you're reconnecting with the essence of who you are, before all the neuroses and baggage came into play. it's not necessarily better than other friendships, it's just different. and lovely.
going to anna's tonight for britcoms and eddie izzard. she was the one who hooked me on british comedy when i was about 8 years old. i have the personality i have and the sense of humour i have in part because of her. i am loving that we're friends again!
