on catness
tonight we had meredith over for our long-awaited shaun of the dead night. however, as funny as shaun of the dead is, the biggest source of amusement was my kitty. we had cooked some steak for dinner, and meredith (having recurrent stomach issues) was eating it very slowly. in order to foil the cat, we hid her plate under the topmost part of the coffee table - it has a glass top, 5" supporting bars on each corner then the standard ikea faux wood portion on which i keep magazines and things i don't want my cat to get at.
however, i underestimated the dear kitty. while i was scooping out some sorbet, chloe started barfing... big deal i'm thinking, she barfs all the time. except she barfed up a piece of steak the size of a THUMB. WHOLE. i can't believe she swallowed that!!!! needless to say i didn't let her eat it again!
