My only fear is a ridiculously small budget...I'd rather wait until the sci-fi channel inevitably picks it up and starts making new episodes...at least they can afford special effects
Have you seen sci-fi original movies lately? Man, they have some of the absolute worst special effects I've seen since, well special effects got good.
I haven't been following it, but as far as I know, the only quality original programming they've done since Farscape (and even that had a slightly cheesier look to it than I prefer- I had to work hard to get into the stories) is Battlestar Galactica. In fact, everyone I've talked to is glad Sci-fi channel doesn't have the money to fund Enterprise. They'd only fuck it up. (Got fingers crossed for NBC, thought.) I can't imagine they'd do much for Firefly.
