Omeros and the The Odyssey ?

so.... I'm late constructing a course that starts next week. It's a writing through lit course (don't ask). My question for you folks is... does anyone have any ideas as to which parts of Derek Walcott's Omeros might fit neatly with The Odyssey ? This is roughly a class for first year or second year students and I'm using this to introduce epic ( Read more... )

While you're not a student, this post is still a little homeworky. This comm shouldn't be the first place you turn to with questions about how to do your work, whatever it might be.

Having said that, if you'd contextualized your post by telling us the way in which you think it might work, or more about what you want to do with it, etc., it would probably look less homeworky.

(Just a little cranky since grading is getting in the way of my hungry belly -- but seriously, you're more likely to get good advice with a post that shows that you've already thought through your problem.)

I do know...I just don't like it or agree with how it fits into the writing curriculum at my institution.
