From the Chronicle of Higher Education, BA's overrated?

Thought this might be of interest to some:

America's Most Overrated Product: the Bachelor's Degree.

I have to agree with some of the points the author makes. After TA'ing at my community college for a year, I quickly realized that not everyone is cut out for college and it's just asinine to force everyone into that path. And I think that colleges do need to throw more resources at actually teaching students who go into such large debt amounts in order to be there. But I also think students need to start taking college more seriously. In some ways, I'd like to see more students not go to college immediately after high school; hell I know that after I dropped out of college and came back, I took college *way* more seriously and did a lot better . A few years in the real world may go a long way to helping some of our students to take their classes a little more seriously.

Anyways, the article has some interesting food for thought.
