Newbie intro

I checked this community out on a recommendation from my boyfriend, and you guys are awesome!
I'm a first year MA student in Spanish, planning to go on for the Ph.D. after. I'm also teaching an intro-level Spanish course. (Next semester, I get two!)
Teaching is giving me so many stories lately. For example, I was leafing through a pile of compositions awaiting grades the other day, and something smelled minty. Then, it felt like there was way too much paper in one handful to belong to only one student. Yup. The two papers were stuck together with a wad of ABC gum. How on Earth am I going to explain that to the poor student whose paper will be handed back with a speck of gum on it? (It clearly belonged to the student whose paper looked as it if had been wadded up into a ball, then halfway smoothed out.)
What's the most disgusting/unprofessional thing that has ever been handed in to you?
