Hi, I just joined the community! My name is Amanda and I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I'm grateful for this community because hopefully y'all won't roll your eyes at my obsessions!

I guess, here's a little background... )

Ah yes! I enjoy infatuations so much more than the real thing...one main reason is because with an infatuation you are never disappointed. It's always everything you ever wanted.

I totally understand about backing out the moment there's a chance that something might happen. I do that all the time.

Anyways, welcome!

I have the same problem with infatuations, too. Althought I don't really mind them :D They're fun!

Obsessions/infatuations/complete and utter devotion, they all keep me going. Wishing for somemthing bigger than yourself is better than nothing at all.

Are your infatuations often teachers, or just usually older guys of some type?

Do you have any regular boyfriends? Have those relationships not worked out well?

There's been three or four teachers, but say, in the acting world, all my favorites are older men. My icon, for instance (Gabriel Byrne) is 50-something this year. Generally my infatuations aren't under the age of 35.

Yes, I guess I've had halfa dozen regular boyfriends in my lifetime, and no they haven't worked out well, but not because I just pay attention to my infatuations. I'm sure the reason they don't work out is something of a more sinister nature >:)

Hmm. I wish you were in my class. I'm a 40-year-old college prof. :-)

Whoa, are you really?! It's probably not difficult meeting girls here, hmm? What do you teach? My current love interest is an English teacher (of whom I must post later on). Mind if I add you to my friends?

May I now present an "official" welcome to you! Ah, that sends me back to my first strong infatuation with a history teacher, Mr. Hendricks. I wasn't that productive as an infatuated student, but I did become his TA my senior year, which led to a lot of fond discussions with him. He was the first in a line of cherished history teachers/professors I've had...and not in a carnal sense...unfortunately. ;-)
