Poem-a-Daying It

This describes my emotional state pretty aptly.

Place

So it seems now
that I am to be relegated to a world of white
(-haired) women my whole life:
weight, like their ages,
worn ‘round the middle of two endpoints.
I am the tall weed in the tomato garden,
the ugly duckling beaking brown mud alone by the riverside.
I’m all curves in a straight world.
For all my steering I
have somehow arrived early
exactly where I wanted not to be.
