'Afore I Dive Into WoW...

I am now officially 31 years of age. Huzzah. x.x

My birthday was a lot of fun! Since it fell on Easter this year we went over to Mom and Dad's for a big lunch - turkey, ham, homemade mac'n'cheese, oven roasted veggies, gravy, and yams (I provided the yams at Mom's request - they're always a big hit.. my sister Loves them!).

Course Getting to their place was a small adventure since Justin's car battery has been having some rockin' issues. Lo, his car didn't start. x] Because mine had been dormant for a couple of weeks (You know, because I drive everywhere everyday!) its battery was also dead, so Gin came over with her car (Mammaw's - God rest her soul - old Buick) whereupon we discovered it's one of those cars whose batteries are not in the engine compartment. x.x Jumped Justin's care off the fuse box Anyway 'cause he's a smart guy (except for when he left his keys in the car, close the door, and when the battery suddenly had power... armed the alarm.. lolol).

Anyway, made it over there eventually. :) I opened my gift, which consisted of many colorful shirts that will be perfect for going out OR hanging around the house! :) Orange, blue, purple, green, and one that's black 'n white and a little dressier than the rest. So awesome. I've been needing some new shirts because I get so tired of wearing t-shirts. n.n Open necked topwear ... for the win.

We ate. Gin, Bub and I chilled in the garage talking about all manner of whatever (sans Will, which was amazing to me). She ended up leaving at some point to head back to school (after the Happy Birthday song and some cake - a Publix cake that Ginny picked up on her way home... because Publix truly does make the best cake and, unfortunately, there's not one local to Myrtle Beach). From there it was just.. hanging out a lot.

Today Mom and I are gonna' head out to the Fossil store (watches). Two Fold Mission... they got Bub a Fossil and it didn't quite fit, so they need to take it up to the place to add a link to it. In the course of this conversation, Mom asked if I'd ever gotten MY Fossil repaired (this after Dad took the one Justin and I got him for Christmas - or possible a birthday - one year in for repairs). I said No, so Mom offered to pay and get mine fixed.

I'm talking about the Orange faced Fossil Watch that I wore FOREVER, even despite the fact that I had cracked its crystal on one of the bag carousels while working at Save-Rite.

So.. for thirty bucks the Fossil people will:
- Put in a new battery
- Change the crystal
- Replace the band and watch face

Basically, they make the watch look Literally brand new. :)

I'm so excited about it. I had continued to wear that watch as Justin replaced batteries even despite the cracked crystal (I thought it gave the watch character, after all) - and on occasion I would wear it even when it didn't actually tell time as a means of accessorizing. Regardless of my natural affinity for the watch, it was one of the first really expensive things that I bought myself (at the time I think it was like.. 70 dollars are thereabouts.. which is a lot to a person who was working as a waitress at a small Mom 'n Pop BBQ joint). I've had it since 2000 (Summer or Fall of...), so it's one of those items that saw a lot of my growing up. :3 It'll just be nice to wear it again...

...although Mom just called and said she's getting a bit of a headache, and usually when she gets a headache it turns into an issue otherwise known as a Migraine. x.x So we MIGHT NOT go today, but that's fine too. EVENTUALLY the watch will get fixed if not this fine.. rainy.. Monday. o_O

And off to WoW and finishing my coffee. ::bounce::

new stuff, birthday, family, watch, wow, fossil, random
