Chevron seven is locked and LeapGate is open for business. Sam and Rodney agree that some magic of science will allow the 'gate to be open much longer than the usual 38 minutes and you have until March 3rd to write comment!fic.

1) The (incredibly long - thanks everyone!) prompt list can be found at this post. Go there to pick a prompt to write ( ( Read more... )

Getaway, [Sam Carter/MacGyver (MacGyver); sand] (G) pepper_field February 13 2008, 10:19:59 UTC
Sorry I'm starting this off with a MacGyver crossover - blame surreallis! ;)Mac lay soaking in the sun, mind reeling under waves of heat, body utterly relaxed. Yeah, this was the life. Nothing but him, Pete's beachhouse, and 600 metres of golden sands, empty in either direction ( ... )

I refuse to feel the slightest bit guilty. *g* Mac is glee, QED.

Oh my!! I just adore this pairing and the way you write them. Yeah, Sam needs a week of sun, sand, and surf, that's for sure, with Mac along to keep slathering on that suntan lotion. (G) is not quite the rating that my brain is taking me to.

Seeking Shelter [Aiden Ford, Jonas Quinn; rain] (PG) maychorian February 13 2008, 16:30:34 UTC
(I don't know if the timelines of this actually line up at all--haven't seen SGA s3 so I don't know if Ford shows up again, if he's better, etc. I'm going to assume that this works, though, because I want to write it ( ... )

Oh....wow.
That's a really intriguing idea and I can see it happening so incredibly well.
I love the desperate feel of being so wrapped internally that you don't really notice the stranger beside you and Jonas's innate hope and Aiden's cold reality and that smile *shivers*
*wants more*

The weird thing is, I want more too. And I really thought I could maybe finally write some Daniel, because I love him so much and I haven't really found time to write him yet. But Aiden and Jonas have eaten my brain, darn them.

Good thing there are three more prompts with those two.

Eeeeee. This is eerie and fascinating. And somehow this is very Jonas:

There was something wrong with Aiden's eyes. Jonas decided not to notice.

Sins Which Aren't Ours, [Jolinar, Qetesh; burn] (PG-13) abyssinia4077 February 13 2008, 16:57:10 UTC
Sam watches through eyes that aren't hers as the dark-haired woman throws her head back and snarls. Once-gaudy robes are tattered around her frame and she laughs with the arrogance of one who refuses to admit defeat.

She will break soon Rosha whispers to Jolinar in a thought full of amused viciousness.

Jolinar silently agrees. The Goa'uld have little tolerance for the pain they are all too eager to dish out. She extends the Goa'uld painstick, stamping down memories of the fire it has sent through her own veins more than once, and lets it burn a trail down the back of Qetesh's host. When she reaches the base of the spine her whole body convulses.

"...please..." The voice is barely audible and lacks the distortion of the Goa'uld, which means Qetesh has managed to draw back and her host - the dark-haired woman with the haunted eyes - has come forth. "...please..." she says again as Jolinar shakes away the momentary sympathy that flashes through her - a weakness she long ago learned was unaffordable.

War has casualties ( ... )

Wow. This is a brilliant take on the prompt. So plausible and so disturbing, and I'm fascinated by the idea of Rosha being the more ruthless one.

(And in another timeline I can see Vala ending up as Jolinar's next host, and wouldn't that be interesting too ...)

Oh, Vala. Oh, Sam.

Bittersweet [Daniel, Skaara; regret] (PG) sg_fignewton February 13 2008, 19:02:57 UTC
(spoilers for Pretense)

Skaara slapped an exuberant hand against Daniel's arm before he practically bounced down the steps to greet the others. His face was alight with joy as he spoke to Jack, to Teal'c, to Sam - as himself, not as Klorel's host. After three years of daily, hourly torment, he was finally free ( ... )

Oh, it wouldn't be Daniel if life (or the writers) didn't kick him in the teeth. Good thing he's got that weeble gene... :)

Ow. Nothing will ever really make this better, and of course Daniel knows it.

Lovely moment.

Pick-Me-Up, [Sam Carter/MacGyver (MacGyver); coffee] (PG) pepper_field February 13 2008, 23:00:00 UTC
Sam woke slowly and comfortably, and turned her nose into the pillow with a pleased murmur - a little disconcerted to find she'd awoken smiling. Mac was up and about already, even more of an early bird than her. She could hear whistling coming from the direction of the kitchen of Director Thornton's holiday home, and wondered if Mac was making breakfast for her. Probably: he had an old-fashioned sense of chivalry that she found hopelessly endearing. Mostly, anyhow ( ... )
