2007 Fic Year in Review (ie: OMG I wrote *how* much?)

Dec 30, 2007 09:35

I came off a hiatus and started this year a fangirl without a fandom and I'm ending it on a way higher fannish note than I ever expected. Most of the way through 2006 I discovered Stargate: Atlantis and, when I ran out of new canon, Stargate: SG-1. January 2007 saw me taking my first tentative steps into the giant sprawling empire that is ( Read more... )

Holy moly. That's an impressive archive of work (in both quantity and quality!). And all this year??? *goggles*

Yeah, I was a bit stunned when I put this list together and saw just how *long* it was.
But, well, this year was very low on demands on my time - in terms of work and socially and whatnot, so I spent *way* more time on the computer than I have in the past or expect to once I get back to school.

So, hey, 2007 will always be my year of fanfic :)

Another fic round-up to read, another discovery that I've missed some stories! I'll have to go back and read some, especially "Distance from Here to Where You Are"--I think I missed that one!

You've written quite a lot this year! "Preserve Your Memories" is my favorite of the ones I've read so far.

Yeah, these round-ups have been great. I'm bookmarking all of them for later combing through (because I've read a lot this year but there's A LOT I've missed too). And lots of people missed "Distance from Here" which, well, was to be expected really. If you do read it I hope you like it.

I think "a lot" is an understatement. I'm still reeling by how much I wrote.

"Preserve Your Memories" is my favorite of the ones I've read so far.
Aw, thanks. It seemed to strike a chord with a lot of people and, honestly, it's still a story that I'm not sure where it came from.

Wow! That's pretty amazing. And it's all such *good* fic! All I can say is that you really added an excellent chapter to the SG-1 fandom with all of this. And I love so much that you sort of fell in love with Sam/Daniel. :)

Yeah. when I first typed the list up I was pretty stunned by how long it was. I knew I'd written a lot, but didn't realize it wast that much.

And thanks!

(as for Sam and Daniel, they are so awesome and cute and a billion other good things together, how could I not fall for them? :) )

[and, seriously, thank you so much for the beta-help with "Preserve Your Memories" last Spring. I still think that's going to remain one of my touchstone stories and your help and encouragement with it was invaluable]

I'm impressed too. And a bit scared, especially given how much I still want to write.

And man, do I owe you a bunch of feedback... :)

Eh, I owe feedback on a lot of fics too. There's so much to read and only so much time to do it.
(I also have to write Sam/Vala for you sometime...)

Go you! ;-)

Seriously, I'm so glad you crossed the divide into SG-1 fandom. You've written so many wonderful things ficwise, and it's great to have you around.

Happy New Year! (and hoping for lots of fic again...if not quite *so* much next year, heh).

P.S. Should I be insulted that I didn't see I Feel Pretty on the list? ;-)

Hee :) I'm glad too, though I do want to get back into writing SGA sometimes. Thanks for welcoming into SG-1 fandom because I promise that helped me cross the divide.

(oh, there'll be fic next year. Couldn't stop if I wanted too. But, yeah, I hope not so much)

*headdesk*
Why do I ALWAYS forget about that fic? Seriously it's like someone walked in with an Asgard memory wipe (do Asgards have memory wipes) to conspire for me to NEVER remember writing that...
