I love this so much. You built their friendship up gradually, realistically, and in keeping with the show's progression - and you did it without getting overly maudlin or melodramatic. I loved seeing each place they went to, as well. Definitely one to bookmark. Thanks for sharing it!

I love their friendship on the show. They're both more open about feelings than either Jack or Teal'c and I love the special scientist banter and understanding they have between them.
I'm so glad to hear you liked the fic and that you thought it worked with the development we see onscreen. I was trying hard to show their closeness without getting sappy.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

yeah! Glad this got posted so quickly. Like I said, I really liked how this came out - I love the way you show their friendship and the things that have happened to them, but tangentially, not in your face. :)

I'm still a bit awed at how quick this story came about - I've never written something so fast before. I guess it really wanted out of my head?

Thanks so much for the beta work and for the comments! I'm really glad you liked it and really glad to hear I managed to show their friendship without getting too sappy.

*waves* I just wanted to say that I'll be back to read this when I'm done watching Season 5 (it shouldn't be too long now). *adds to memories*

hee :)
Fair enough. It's actually only the last section that mentions anything from season 5.

Good luck with the rest of the season. You've got some good and some powerful episodes coming up. Have fun!

Well, that was just pretty and sad and funny and insightful and, oh, did I mention, SAD??

I love the first line of this last bit. So frank and honest and just SAD.

:-( except for :-) for you writing and posting and writing more!

It wasn't supposed to be sad! It was supposed to be about them hiking all over Colorado and being friends! Only then I realized how it needed to end and it got sad. But the happy part is that after a while, Daniel comes back to them!

Someday I'll show you the episode - Sam breaks me heart in it so badly because she doesn't really know what's going on and she's obviously upset and guilty and none of the others seem to really understand that she's upset and needs them so while they all shut down and try to move on, she's stuck finding nobody to grieve with.

I'm glad you liked it! Yay writing. Writing is for good.

*tear* I love fics that explore the very special bond of Sam and Daniel... this is another beautiful fic. I love how Sam is so mad at the end. I can see her screaming into the storm and feeling a bit better but still very bitter.

Lovely!

I know! There isn't nearly enough Sam&Daniel fic out there - there's just something special about their bond, the language and view they share that the others don't. *loves them*

I feel so bad for Sam in "Meridian" and "Revelations" because she doesn't really know why Jack tells Jacob to stop, and she feels Daniel's loss so deeply and nobody else seems to. She's left flailing, looking for someone to share that grief, to admit they also hurt and is surrounded by a bunch of stupid, stoic men instead. Except Hammond, who rocks. I figure she has to let that emotion out somehow.

I'm so glad to hear you liked it. Thanks so much for commenting!
