TItle: Shattered
Series: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Pairing(s): Kyouya Hibari/Tsunayoshi Sawada (eventual); Ietsuna Sawada(OC)/Kyoko Sasagawa
Rating: PG
Warnings: Light Nana-bashing, random singing, etc. (To be filled as I go along.)
Disclaimer: I definitely can mix and draw... not. I own nothing but the idea and that (annoying) OC~!
Notes: Chapter has the link to the chapter on ff.net. The song title has a link to a Youtube (of the version of the song I listened to while working on the chapter/the one I was inspired by.)
Chapter 1;
Servant of Evil: The song was chosen to show the relationship between Ietsuna and Tsunayoshi. Obviously, not all the song has been hit (such as the "switch-a-roo"), but most of it fits the situation which Tsuna is living in. Yet, those that can see the facade know that it is fitting because of his nature (and his willingness to do everything for "Ie-kun".)
Chapter 2;
World is Mine: The song was chosen to show that, in a way, Ietsuna is given everything he wants. It also shows the way he "charms" girls. So, it ended up being a mixture of Miku's World is Mine and Kaito's (Another:) World is Mine. Of course, I will only link Miku's version.
Chapter 3;
Unhappy Refrain: I chose this song for its title. This is the introduction to Hibari Kyouya and his role, sort of, along with his curiosity. Also, I thought that it would work because Hibari is lonely (whether he admits it or not), and he stops himself from being unhappy about it.
Chapter 4;
Eye Examination: It was a song about seeing one's true self in another person. At least, that's what I thought until the manga came out (with the weird "C" eye and all.) Ignoring the manga and going with my interpretation, the meaning of the song was the reason why this song was used for this chapter. (And it hints at romance because... look at that.)
Chapter 5;
Rolling Girl: Is it bad that I think this song is perfect for Gokudera? Anyways, like I mentioned (or Tsuna mentioned), Gokudera sort of just... existed before becoming the Storm Guardian. So... like the girl in the song, he keeps rolling (through life) and getting injured for existing. It works... for me, somehow.
Chapter 6;
Don't Mylist Me!: It was originally a song that was used only because it appears, but then the chapter wrote itself, and Hibari ended up acting a bit (or a lot) like Rin in Don't Mylist Me! (So for this chapter, it was more like Hibari's attitude than the song's appearance, not like how I planned it originally.)
Chapter 7;
Iroha Uta: I meant to focus on the way that the two idolize Ietsuna. (Supposedly, according to our unreliable narrator.) But then it derailed, but this song does affect it. It's based off the lyrics, from what I remember, "I shall willingly let you leash me." But it derailed. I think I managed to get it in, though.
Chapter 8;
Just Be Friends: The song itself is breaking up because all they can do is be friends. I did this somewhat literally, as both Tsuna and Mochida have to move on because Ietsuna has Kyoko, the girl they both like.
Chapter 9;
Reboot: It's a song about the friendship and the destruction of it. I think this is a good example of what Mochida and Hibari's friendship would be like with and without Tsuna. (Maybe foreshadow?)
Chapter 10;
Abstract Nonsense: It's foreshadowing. That's all I'll say.
Chapter 11;
Tokyo Teddy Bear: I am almost certain I was using a different song, but Tokyo Teddy Bear seemed to fit more, considering Tsuna's character and all.
Art Challenge: I am going to draw a picture for each song based on a number from the
100 palette challenge on DA. (Or tumblr.) Corresponds with chapter number, the number in brackets being the palette used. Um, also, feel free to request a certain palette (not used) for a certain chapter/song.
