He allowed him to date her. He allowed him to go away for days. Kaoru would wait for him, always faithful to him. He never considered that it could end.
That day he had gone on a trip, a trip with the other Host Club members. He offered to stay behind with him, but Kaoru said to go with the others. The day he heard was on the anniversary of their relationship.
“Kaoru?” Haruhi entered without permission.
“What?” He glared at her inwardly. If she was here, then they couldn’t be together.
“I know Hikaru meant so much to you. More than you two let on.” Kaoru stared at his pillow. “Kaoru, Hikaru is dead.”
Kaoru held back the sobs that threatened to make themselves known.
“I’m sure Hikaru will tell you not to worry.” She left him to be.
Kaoru pulled out the knife that was hidden, and stabbed himself. ‘Hikaru, I’m joining you.’
