Summary: She seduced him, and he was helpless.
Notes: I don't use their names in here, so either character can be genderbent. (Now, mythology lesson.) The nymph is often associated with the (Greek) Gods, but can cause insanity or death to the people that manage to see them. Often playful.
He could feel himself losing his grip on reality, but he was fine with that-he just wanted to catch up to the nymph in front of him. He didn’t care that she would probably lead him to his death; he was genuinely interested in him.
She turned to face him, and flashed a flirtatious smile, drawing him closer and closer. He was entranced, wondering about what she was promising (the look said that something good would happen if he followed.)
There was one thing that worried him, though. He knew he wasn’t supposed to follow, to go near the nymphs. His father told him stories of people who met nymphs and never returned (though how the others knew that they followed a nymph was a mystery to him.)
In the very back of his mind (a part he didn’t want to listen to), he could hear the stories about the men that followed the nymphs-some bodies were found while others never appeared. Others were said to be driven insane by the nymphs, muttering about the things they’ve seen, and the things they wished they could’ve seen.
“Are you lost, little traveler~?” The teasing tone only continued to seduce him, drawing him into the forbidden world.
He was helpless-he couldn’t ignore something like that. Even then, he couldn’t answer her-he couldn’t do anything but stare at her.
She smiled warmly, or what he hoped was filled with genuine affection. She danced in front of him, attempting to draw him closer and closer to her. He could only smile back, which he hoped was flirtatious.
She giggled softly, and held out her hand, beckoning him forward. He complied, gripping her hand with his own, and waited for her to drag him away. He smiled, as if to reassure himself and her, and she easily pulled him towards the forest.
He didn’t like the look of it, the forest, but he couldn’t stop himself (or her) from going any closer.
“Are you afraid~?” She cooed softly into his ear, the flirtatious smile plastered on her face. He could only blush slightly-he would never admit that the forest was eerie (to not only him, but to everyone).
She tugged him closer and closer to the forest, always cooing reassurance to him, always looking back to see if he’s there (though why she would need to, he didn’t know-his hand was around hers.)
“I hope you like this~” She murmured, for once not sounding seductive or flirtatious. Before he could reply (stating that it looked wonderful, even if he couldn’t see a difference), she revealed a secret location, one that he would’ve never found stunning had it not been for her.
“Beautiful,” he murmured, his eyes quickly returning to her.
She liked him, as she knew, but she was also bracing herself for his death-humans were fragile creatures after all. It would end like always-she would be heartbroken until the next human came, the next human who would distract her, and would keep her from going insane-she would then fall in love with that human.
Nevertheless, she would have fun, fun that would quickly turn into something more.
