It's now 2006. Not that it actually matters. Lynn and I concluded that ultimately people saying that a new year means a new beginning is total bollocks. If you want a new beginning, if you want to get something done then you should just fucking do it. But then again, Lynn and I actually get shit done and achieve. So to us, we merely go on living our life and doing the best we can everyday. Which is all we can ask.
I'm sad that I was not in Long Island. Two of my dearests were there. Obviously Danielle* and then Alex. After awhile my mother says "Oh, you could have gone to Long Island. I would have paid your train fare." Thanks Mom.
Anyway, I also did not get to spend the new year with Lynn on account of the snow. Fearing bad roads and ice, etc. That's all well and good. Tis better to be safe than sorry. Tis ok, we'll ring in the new year properly tomorrow. The only way we know how....rockin' the cock.
The downstairs is all painted new colors, and my grandmother's antique furniture is in the former family room, which was the living room before that, but on account of it being so "formal" now I refer to it as the parlor, or salon. I'm really into being pretentious.
Danielle* gets here on Thursday. I'm bursting to see her. She and Alex were gonna take a doll and tape my picture to the head and say "This is our good friend Alyssa who is here in spirit." Love them.
Anyway, in retrospect on account of the year having a new number in it let me say this. Two people have been exceedingly important to me in 2005. They are without a doubt Lynn and Danielle*. Love my two blonde republicans more than life itself. Other than that, I suppose there are others who matter to me a lot. Shelby, Ashley, Alex, Mike and Willy. I guess 2005 was a good year, I made some amazing friends. The people that mean the world to me. Plus there is always Lynn who has and does mean the world to me. We drive each other up a wall, but ultimately we absolutely adore one another. Which is most important.
2006 I move into my house. That's gonna be awesome. I also turn 21, in 6 days. Start my reserach, go to California. And get to do research in the Hamptons this summer. I'm looking forward to it.
Anyway, 2005 was pretty awesome in retrospect.
