THIS IS EVERYTHING I WANTED, OH MY GOD.
No really, this is PERFECT. Just -- Jenna's relationship with Miranda and John's with his brother and how sex was never, ever the problem between them and of course they had sex after the funeral. Of course they did.
"I always cared, Jenna."
"About yourself, maybe," she snorts something unladylike, something Miranda probably would have laughed at. "About the best way somebody's presence in your life you could benefit you."
This really is their relationship as I see it in a nutshell and just. Have I told you that this is perfect enough times yet? Because it is.
PLEASE WRITE THEM AGAIN, PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

You know, I just realized through reading this that Jenna's character doesn't get enough credit. She's a young woman who has taken on a massive responsibility and she really seems as if she's shouldering it as best she can *-)
I love the parallels you drew between Jenna and John in having them both feel less adequete in comparison to their siblings (and the contrast between how each of them handled it), it really gave a special dynamic to the relationship between the two of them and made it so that they could understand one another in a very fundamental way; great stuff!! =)
