Challenge No. 12: Insomnia
Title: Hit me
Characters: Anita. Anita POV
I can't sleep, some nights. I used to be able to sleep after anything, until a psycho vampire pulled me into her coffin all day a few years ago.
I never know when the insomnia is going to hit. Sometimes I'm sleepy, tucked between Micah and Nathaniel, when something will hit me and I just lie there, all night, waiting for them to wake up so I can move.
I think Micah's noticed. He hadn't said anything, but it's only a matter of time.
I want him to ask, and yet I don't.
I'm not sure what I'd say.

Back when he was a teenager, after he'd been infected with lycanthropy, Richard used to have whole weeks where he couldn't sleep at all. His brother Daniel knew; after all, they’d shared a room for their whole lives. That's why Daniel knew he was a werewolf.
On those nights, Richard sat on the windowsill until dawn, watching the moon, smelling the night air, wanting to run, to hunt. A few times, he actually crawled out onto the roof, but stopped himself before he dropped to the ground.
He was human, he kept telling himself. Not an animal.
Never an animal.
