LJ Advisory Board Elections

May 27, 2008 17:23

Wow, this place sure has been quiet.

In any case, some of you may not be aware that the LiveJournal Advisory Board Elections are taking place.

If you haven't been following the election, then-surprise surprise!-the current front-runner, legomymalfoy, is an active member of LJ abuse and self-described "Abuse Nazi" who has stated that she will not resign that ( Read more... )

The maintainer of this community believes jameth is a troll because of his ED page, so don't be surprised if this post is bahleeeeted.

This post isn't about Jameth. It's about a self-described "Abuse Nazi" being elected to represent the LJ userbase.

Oh, I do do I? When, and where, did I ever say that *I* thought Jameth was a troll?

Also, since when have I bahleeted any serious posts in here?

These past few days have been filled full of statements based on assumptions and rumors.

This is why I now make it a point to not say anything unless I have some sort of verification, like *points up* a screen shot.

*nods* Hence why when Marta said that the Interests policy on interest meaning like " was retracted nearly as quickly as it was said", I grabbed a screen shot...

Yes, I'm well aware of your ability to twist words. Of course saying that Jameth is best known for trolling and citing his ED page as evidence doesn't mean that *you* specifically think he's a troll!

In any case, I'm glad you won't be deleting this serious post, as I think it's a huge conflict of interest to elect an LJ Abuse staff member to such a position.

Thing is, I don't actually twist words, I state exactly what I mean (typos aside), it's just that - IME - most of the rest of the world has trouble with NOT twisting the actual words that they see in front of them. *shrug*

I'm just happy that I at last appear to've achieved LJ in70rw3b fame, since - according to your good self, whom I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve at all (even despite that fact that I don't know you from adam [there's gotta be one, I'll eat my... erm... next chinese if there isn't one ;)]) - I am " one of the better known trolls on Livejournal", which is not bad for having been here seven'n'half years. That quote is SO going in LJ user inof. y'know ( ... )

My comment was a joke in reference to your absurd statement that Jameth's ED page, a joke page on a parody site created by his friends to make fun of him, was somehow indicative of his personality and somehow made him less of a candidate. I'm not really sure who you are aside from being in a couple of your communities, but you can leave that part out of your user info.

But again, I didn't say that *I* thought it made him less of a candidate, only that that' what some, nay, many, people think.

As for who I am. Well we're in a total of one mutual community - this one (which has been bloody quiet of late anyway). *shrug* What can I say, your ironing leaves much to be desired, since it looks more like it came straight out of the washer, still all scrunched up. Either way, you've said it in public on LJ, and so into my user info. it's gone - as does any comment made about me that I feel leads to an amusing glimpse of who I MAY be.

Sorry, I have better things to do with my time than track you down all over the internets.

I intentionally didn't make this a thread about Jameth (though I do still enthusiastically support him) because such a thread wouldn't be on-topic, but a thread about how an abuse team stooge is being elected to represent users' interests most certainly is.

IAWTP. Especially since it would be trivially easy for an LJ staff member to make a bunch of sock puppet accounts in advance of the election.

Yes, because a comment in the same thread is really hard work to track down.

So were you washing your hair that night too? :p

I've been traveling all week and haven't yet had time to deal with the issues.
