Yes, I've been in Chicago one year, today. Christ, I love this city. I'd give it a big ol sloppy smooch if I could.
So much has happened for me here in the past year. Some good, some bad. And, of course, much which was neither good nor bad.
Appropriately, the occassion is marked by another move, from Logan Square to Albany Park. I moved in with
mewska (with whom I also recently shared an anniversary of another kind) this past weekend. I've spent the last week tidying up the apartment in Logan Square.
It feels good to be out of there. As happy as I was to be in Chicago, that apartment, that neighborhood, that whole situation was a poor fit. Nobody's fault. I just never really got the hang of that living situation.
Looking forward! I love our new apartment. It's adorable. It's cozy. The neighborhood is close enough to Lincoln Square (where most of my friends are living) to drop through at short notice, but it's a little removed, which I like as well.
I'm coming up on my year anniversary as a consultant at Walgreens! I look forward to celebrating by still not getting hired.
What else?
You tell me, internet! I think I will try to be more engaged with my online friends now that I'm in my new place.
