I'll Fly Away...

Valentine's Day was fun. A little rainy and cold, but full of hugs and smiles. I was up until 4am Monday morning making valentines for just about everyone I know. It was totally worth it for the smiles on their faces.

Happy (Belated) Birthday to Anny and Emily! You're both a coupla sweethearts.

Didn't get any sleep at all last night. I was up all night working on a paper, writing an article for the school paper, and finishing/creating a project for The Designer section of my intro to drama class. All due today, of course. Got them all done, though! And I think I did a pretty bang up job on all of them, if I do say so myself.

I've become hopelessly addicted to the ABC show Lost. The first 15 episodes are available for download through Kenster (Kenyon's Napster, basically), and I'm on episode 13. I started watching this Friday night. Obsession much? It's so, so good! Seriously, watch one episode and you'll be hooked. It's kinda scary/thrilling, though, so be warned!

There was a group of Tibetan Buddhist monks here at Kenyon last week from Wednesday through Saturday. They were here to create a peace mandala out of sand. This thing was amazing, guys. It was about 5x5 feet, insanely intricate, and if one of them had even so much as breathed on it the wrong way the whole thing would have been destroyed. Then they swept it away and sent it down the Kokosing River to symbolize the impermanence of all things and the value of non-attachment. It was truly amazing. Check out their website, you will be enthralled: Drepung Loseling Institute

Measure for Measure was a huge success. I'm sad it's over, but happy that my life and soul no longer belong to the Bolton Theatre. Now my life and soul belong to Jess, my director for Chris Durang's The Marriage of Bette and Boo, the funniest play I've ever read/seen. Seriously. The whole thing is one long dead baby joke involving an Irish Catholic family. I play Margaret, the mother of the bride. Speaking of theatre, I'm now an official member of the KCDC (Kenyon College Dramatic Club), which means I've worked over 120 hours on KCDC sponsored shows since I arrived at Kenyon. W00t!

On a slightly sadder note, I miss falling asleep smiling so much...

Time to go turn in my paper for 19th century British Literary Women. Then maybe breakfast...mmm, food.
