Yay it's Friday!
This weekend I am helping my dad work at his booth at 12th Annual Capital District Apple Festival and Craft Fair. My dad is a stone artist :) He is a stone mason, and on the side he makes stone carvings and stone and copper "crafts" like picture frames, candle holders, lanterns, etc. Lots of very cool things. I helped him work the apple festival last year too and it was fun. He didn't sell a ton of stuff, but he did pretty well. I think the majority of people there are out to buy handmade candles and cheap stuff like that, so they don't expect to pay $80 for a stone and stained glass lantern so they probably don't have much cash on them. If he was selling at a bigger, ritzier craft fair then he would probably make more of a profit. Still, it's fun. And I get to buy apple cider, apple cider donuts, maybe even apple pie! Oooh and fudge! Perhaps I will be 10 pounds heavier by Monday, but hey, the apple festival only roles around once per year, and an apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? ;) I'm so corny.
One of my coworker's is in a band and they are playing at the festival on Sunday. Hopefully I will get a chance to catch some of their set.
