home alone V.1
So, the boy is away for work AGAIN! Damn. He spends spends more time in Poughkeepsie working than he spends up here. He said that sometime this week he is going to tell his boss that he wants another raise because this is getting ridiculous. The only thing he gets out of going away for work is a paid hotel room (Super 8...oh how fancy. ick) and food and two hours paid driving time down there and two hours back up here. They won't even let him work overtime while he is down there so he could get the work done faster. Ah well..
The good thing about him not being home is that I get to eat things for dinner that he doesn't like. Tonight I made vegetable pot pie. Cream of potato soup, carrots, string beans, and corn with Bisquick on top. Mmmm.
I was actually slightly productive tonight too. I did a load of laundry and cleaned the cats' litter box. Wooohoo! Go me!
Yesterday we went to a nearby lake to go swimming. We were chased out of the water by a brief rain shower. Everyone wanted to go in the water after the sky cleared up but by then I was all dry and comfortable by then so I stayed on "the beach" and sat at a picnic table reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" which chompyheather was so sweet to send to me a while ago and I'm just now getting around to starting it. I really like it. I can't wait to read some more before I go to bed tonight. That's another good thing about having the house to myself, I can read in bed! Yay! When Cory is home he usually goes to bed before me and if I had the light on it would bother him.
Oh, I keep forgetting to let people know that I'm no longer using my old "Sarahkate915" AIM screen name. We canceled our AOL service when we got Verizon DSL and apparently we can't use our old screen names now, so my new AIM name is "sarahkate80" Original, huh? ;) I need to start getting more crafty with my screen names. Anywhooo... anyone who was on my AIM buddy list before, I'm slowly adding everyone back in. I just didn't want anyone to think I was ignoring them, I have just been so busy lately and haven't even been on AIM all that much.
Well... I think I'm going to go to bed soon so I can get some reading in before I fall asleep.
