Hullo thar Live Journal!
I'm still alive! Hidradenitis tried to steal my quality of life from me, but I didn't let it. And now, I'm one surgery away from freedom for my armsies! :-D
I got the call from the surgical coordinator this week that they had an opening in the Main OR, so I'm all set to go in on Tuesday morning to get my final surgery done - a skin graft for my right armpit. I'm so so happy to have survived the pain and the horror in order to make it to this point where my body is starting to feel akin to that of a normal 32 yr old woman.
Apparently my doctor is using the done photos they took of my left armpit post-surgery at my latest checkup in a talk he is giving on this disease. It is so underserved. If my suffering can help relieve the suffering of others, I'm all for my case being used. Thankfully, my left armpit looks more like an armpit again. :-)
Plus, I'm starting to get range of motion back in the left. I'm nearly able to raise my arm straight up over my head. The graft is still a bit tight, as are the muscles, but I'm working on it one stretch at a time. My surgical team last time was a hoot; I'm hoping for a good group on Tuesday as well.
To celebrate, I bought the new
Urban Decay Vice 2 palette, the Ocho Loco 2 eyeliner set, the Black Market eyeliner set, UD lipstick in Lovestruck, and a bunch of other goodies. And once I'm done with the skin graft, I shall continue in with some other Urban Decay holiday goodies. Gotta start enjoying being alive again. :D
I've also read a couple of books, and watched a good amount of fall tv shows. Life is pretty good right now y'all.
