But then, my scientific side says there's no proof of any such thing and any perceived effects are purely caused by the human mind being more that capable and willing to trick itself and makes us feel/see what we want.

Is it absolute that there is no life-form capable of creative design? No one knows.

Is it absolute that the basic ideas behind the "big gang" is incorrect? No one knows.

Therefore, we have two choices: Either our existence came about through a series of non-intelligent, evolutionary changes, or from the influence of an intelligence.

Can anyone prove that what ever it was that existed prior to the "beginning", was, or was not, intelligent? That is why there are Atheists, Agnostics, and Theists. Acceptance of what you choose to believe does not make you less human or intelligent.

If death brings us to a better life, than that is acceptable. If death brings us to a total non-existence, than that too, is acceptable. Either way, I find nothing to fear. I make my choice and there by live within my parameters.

Worry and fear of the unknown does not concern me, as there is nothing I can do to know, influence or change the "truth", whatever that may be. Live at peace with yourself first and there by, you may live at peace with the future.
