I LOVED IT TOO! I agree with you on every point! You can tell the cast and crew put SO MUCH effort into this movie to make it good, and it totally paid off!
I'm also glad to hear you didn't like the fifth movie--I didn't either, but everyone else seemed to have loved it when it came out and it really baffled me and made me feel left out. But so far everyone seems to be agreeing that DH Part 1 is great and it's making me very happy!! :D
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE LIKE THE FIFTH MOVIE. I kept saying to myself while watching it that I'd forgive everything if only Fred and George's leaving scene was done perfectly. And then it wasn't. I WAS DISSAPOINT FULL OF RAGE.
What'd you think of the third movie? I was turned into a bundle of nerd rage over the werewolves and other visual elements that the director put in that I hated. EVERYONE I know loves the third movie and it's one of my least favourite.
But I'm full of happiness at DH part 1 and if part 1 is this amazing I can't freaking wait for part 2 because that's when SHIT GETS REAL.
Sorry for my belated, babbly response!exx_cecilegrNovember 26 2010, 19:41:08 UTC
Oh the third is one of my least fav too. Partly because it was my first exposure to the HP world, I watched it before reading the books OR watching the first two movies (LOL, stupid I know) and I was like, wtf is all this time travel crap, it's not making sense. Haha.
Later I read the books and watched HP3 again and... never was impressed. I don't care for the way it's sort of drenched in blue, and most of the music is not appealing to me (the Double Trouble chorus is awesome though). I HATE HATE HATE Draco's ugly roots showing in that movie. He's supposed to be natural blond, hello! I did watch it again last year on a REALLY BIG tv and that was actually an enjoyable experience, but for the most part there are too many annoying bits and I just like the other movies more! :P
I may have to go see it then! I still haven't seen the 5th and 6th movies because I didn't like the books so much, but I enjoyed book 7. I'm glad they didn't try to get it all into one movie, that would've been horrible.
There's a couple weird things in the movie that are incongruent with the books, (we don't meet Bill and learn about his and Fleur's relationship until the 7th movie and the Weasley's house randomly burns down in the 6th. I think it was a death eater attack.) but I don't think there's anything that requires previous movie knowledge. It's 100% worthwhile seeing this one, and I can't freaking wait for part two, because that's when all the action goes down.
