Angels vs. Yankees 09.11.11

It was a beautiful day to be at Angel Stadium on Sunday.  Pretty fitting that they were playing against the New York Yankees.  In one of the many tributes that day in all sports, fans were handed little American flags, they honored 3 surviving fighterfighters and military before the game, the national anthem being played by members of the Orange County Sherrif's Department, first pitches thrown by FDNY and military, along with a display of the American flag that covered up most of the outfield, and "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch.  It was nice to be in a very patriotic atmosphere, especially on 9/11.

The game itself was pretty awesome, until we reached the 6th inning with an error that made the Yankees grab a 6-5 lead over the Angels.  It was terrible.  Center fielder Peter Bourjos, who I like very much...DROPPED THE BALL.  It was a chorus of "YEAAAAH" then "NOOOOOOO"...ugh.  At least the Angels took the series 2-1...but still, I would've loved a sweep of the Yankees.

After the game, my 2 nephews and my cousin-in-laws bff's son ran the bases.  I was so caught up in taking pictures to be facinated that I was actually down ON THE FIELD!

The ladies loved the nephew hehehe.  See more photos here.
