so... interesting story. here we go.

one of my friends said that a kid we went to highschool with had posted a bunch of really funny pictures online and i should go check them out. they then sent me a link to the kids myspace account. of course, you can't look at people's pictures without having a myspace account yourself, and i have refrained from signing up for one because i feel that myspace is the asshole of the internet and i wanted no part of that.

after considering things for awhile, i said to myself "y'know what? i'll just sign up for an account, use my junk hotmail address that i pass out to spammy things that require an email address, and just never tell anyone that it exists". great plan, except when i tried to make an account, it informed me that a myspace account had already been made with that email address. i stopped to think about it... no, i have never made a myspace account. could a friend of mine have made it as a joke? possibly, but i haven't used my hotmail address in years, and i think i retired it before myspace even existed (we're talking like 99-2000 here folks).

i was intrigued to say the least, so i asked for a password reminder to be sent to MY email address. sure enough, it arrived a few seconds later, and i was a bit perplexed. i have several different passwords that i use, but they're all a variation on a few set rules. i'm not going to tell you what those rules are because then you could probably guess all of my passwords... but needless to say, this password was not mine. in fact, it was nothing close to anything i could even imagine using. but myspace said it was the password i needed, so i punched it in. sure enough, it worked, and i was looking at the edit menu of a profile obviously belonging to some kid that was not me. was it a typo? maybe. was it a kid trying to avoid junk mail being sent to his REAL email address? more likely. i just think it's kinda weird that it happened. i think i'm going to figure out some way to leave a message for him to change his email address to something that isn't mine. either that or i could paint the town with his profile just to fuck up somebody's life. i'm not actually going to, but because of his lapse in judgement or negligence... i could. there's the world wide web for you folks, hope that whoever comes across your mistakes is nice enough to help you fix them.

off to school on friday, many and much of packing to do before i head out.
