My Year in the Corps V
It occurs to me that each of us has had to give up some aspect of comfort to live here, to live the life we want to lead. For some of us, we find that these are things we ultimately need. For others, we find they are things we can do without. For me, while I know that this is the right way for me to live, with a sustainable community of people doing work that is of a direct service nature, I have had to give up a certain comfort - that is, my ability to be intimate with others. That's not to say there's no room for intimacy in the program...just that I don't have a channel to express that here.
