A beautiful deception
Lies shining in your eyes
blinding you to the girl
Who sits in broken pieces
Falling down one by one
Cluttered in the corner.
No one takes this long
How can you say no?
See the devil in her eyes
You'll never understand
No one understands
This jigsaw puzzle pieces
never finished
There's a pleading in her broken voice
Begging you not to give up
Pick up the pieces and sort them out
One by one the lies will fit
And the light is gone
Finally you can see.

The beautiful flower
delicate
Wilting and drying out
missing nutrients
How does your garden grow?
No one can take so long
to say what they really need to say
A beautiful breakdown
Nature takes its course
Dying only to be reborn
Thorns and petals
Do they scratch you?
Punishment
for beauty's sake
A warning sign
to help you bleed.

The runaway train
Thoughts broken by
the pennies lying flat on the tracks
Out of control
Slowing down or speeding up
The seats go both ways
The phone rings on both ends
Find your ticket or find another way
Don't take the ride
Unless you're ready
To go into the unknown at 100 MPH
On slippery tracks
on sweaty palms and
tearstained rosy cheeks.
Watch your step.

A girl in the mirror
Broken and crached
7 years bad luck
Distorted images
A broken face
A broken heart
A soul that needs mending.
But that's only the beginning
Only the crack in the corner
Cutting her hand, picking up
the shattered ends
Jagged and decieving
each piece tells her story
The story of my life -
broken.

Hold your breath and count to ten
Make a wish and hold it close
How do you wake up in the morning?
Starlight and the man in the moon
Smiling at you in forgiveness
Travel back in time and let it all go
Hold a candle up in hurricane winds
Don't let it blow out
If you say it out loud -
It will never come true.
Open your eyes.
