Home Sweet Home!

As of a few hours ago, I am all moved into my swank new digs. Although they are looking something less than swank right about now with boxes and storage bins piled up chaotically everywhere. My futon is set up enough that I passed out on it for a couple hours from sheer exhaustion (no joke: I was dizzy and throwing up earlier). I took a shower. I am famished and lethargic from all the toil & stress of the last week and the last two days.

I forgot something important when I decided to move on the 29th of June. That also happens to be the same day as the Gay Pride parade, which if I'd have been already moved in I'd have attended. It's an absolute riot; similar too Mardis Gras but with more drag queens & hot guys in speedos who won't try to hit on me. It's a great time. However.... they also close off Halsted, Broadway, and Clark all through Lakeview & Wrigleyville.... which is where I needed to pick up my apt. keys. So I had to hoof it about 6 or 7 blocks there (in the pouring rain), obtain keys, and hike back 6 or 7 blocks (at least the rain let up). This involved illegally crossing the parade route 3 times (twice there and once on the way back, as it was winding down by then) while it was in progress. To top it off, I'm a total retard and thought my apt. was on the 2nd floor and there was only 1 half flight of stairs to go up. Wrong. I'm on the third and topmost floor with 4 half stairs to climb up and down and up and down and omfg I feel like every muscle in my body is broken. Between the past weeks multiple stressors, lack of restful sleep, and being fairly tired before I'd even moved a single box.... I really wish someone would bring me some take out. Oh, yeah.... except it's also INSANELY humid and my phone is fucking up. So I can't call or text anyone, yet it will still behave as a modem & allow me access of the internet.

Also, with my mom in the hospital combined with most of my belongings being in storage for almost 2 years.... I sort of forgot where everything was and what I actually still own. I forgot my TV, my new Egyptian cotton bath towels, my vacuum cleaner, and I'm sure many other things.

Marvelous!

I deserve a pizza, damnit. :\
