AWOL: Update.
The past few weeks have utterly slipped away from me... between working full-time between accounting and marketing (which I really loathe, for the record), getting my registration in for school and dealing w/ financial aid chicanery (which still isn't finalized and my first day of class is one week from today), apt. hunting, band stuff, housewerk, and my personal life.. ..it's a wonder I haven't collapsed or exploded.
Hopefully things will calm down once my financial aid gets resolved and class starts. I should be moving into Grand Rapids around the end of November (into a studio downtown, complete w/ hardwood floors & clawfoot bathtub!) and shortly thereafter will arrange to get my kitties back. FINALLY.
Lately.. I've been knitting up a storm, from dishcloths & washcloths for my new apt. to a new striped scarf for myself that I started yesterday while watching football. Yes, football. I actually got pissed off last night when the Patriots beat the Colts. Can you believe that?! I think someone is corrupting me! o_O
Hmm... in other arenas... I made an amazing curry pumpkin spice soup (I'll post the recipe later today) and have been addicted to Kashi's pumpkin spice flax granola bars. Hell, everything Kashi is fantastic. Their Cinnamon Harvest cereal is ideal for autumn.
I finally dug out my winter coat a few days ago and wore it this morning, in fact. I haven't worn it in over a year, due to being down south for most of last winter.
I need new winter boots. True... I don't plan on spending much time sloughing thru snow, but I'd like some houndstooth rubber insulated boots I've seen.. I'll just have to get some thermal socks to wear with them. They'll wear well into spring as well, when it's cold, rainy, & muddy.
Hmm... I got a new purse a couple weeks ago, when Macy's was having a handbag sale. It's the first really nice designer purse I've ever owned. I'm generally pretty careless when it comes to things like that (handbags, sunglasses, etc.), so it's a bit of an adjustment. It's by Kathy Van Zeeland and is dark metallic plum. I'll take pics later, for those interested.
The more I think about it... the more a picture post seems like a good idea, later on today or tonight. I've taken some interesting/pretty/funny/retarded pics over the past few weeks, now that my cellphone service is reinstated and I've gotten my new phone (same mint chocolate, but different phone... old one committed seppukku).
