Band Camp and Nail Polish Pictures

Apple and Azi, I have gotten postcards from you and they just make me so happy! It's just great coming back home from a day of Band Camp and seeing mail in my new mailbox <333333

Yesterday's weather was overcast, misty to light shower rain aka everyone was feeling rather mehhhhhhhhhhhh =.=, a bit frustrated, and slow to do things. Oh weather, why do you affect people so? Today is like... glorious. It was like 74 this morning with a cool breeze and partly sunny (but more shady than sunny). Best band camp weather - they were more energetic and motivated and positive. \o/ We're making quite a bit of progress on our halftime drill (learned 16 sets in two days... tonight we need to get them playing the second half of the 16 sets while marching).

So, two-ish weeks ago (already? what???), I had gotten three nail polishes from Sunny. During pre-camp, I wore my namesake one, Hymn. Then I had to take it off after I broke one of my fingernails (but it wasn't a terrible break so I could just trim everything to match).
For band camp week, I put on Akaya. They are both amazingly amazing - they are so easy to paint on and the colors and sparkles and everything just are everything that I like. Can't wait to try Alex next week!

Hymn aka Watts per metre Kelvin is a smokey grey-blue with spectraflair (silver in the shade; blinding rainbow in the sunlight). Blue and silver are my favorite two colors and I liked that it was a subdued color that had a lot of BAM in the right light. My students really loved this polish and were amazed/distracted by it lololol. Sunny made this one just perfect for me <3

Forgive the smudging? of my pointer and middle fingers - the top coat wasn't alllll the way dry yet and I was trying to get scotch tape to seal an envelope with :/ My left hand was totally fine, but it only had two coats on and didn't look as good as the three coats on my right so I didn't share any pics of the left hand.

Akaya is a dark red with a lot of gold shimmer in it. This was the very first franken of Sunny's that caught my attention as "Omg, I WANT TO WEAR THAT". The red was darker (we all know I like my dark colors), but also subdued. The gold is so pretty and it almost looks bronze in indoor lighting. And it goes great against my currently very tan skin (oh band camps and lumberjacking). I have three coats on and this time my left hand is better than my right. I kept having to redo cause I was bumped a finger on a drawer handle or was handwriting with what I thought was a dry top coat and smudging it. :/
