If there is something that is on my least favorite things to do, it is definitely starting an already beaten video game over (especially if I have to rewrite it on the original). ><
Anyway, today, I was thinking that I haven't played Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance in a long time. So long that I don't remember a single thing about it except for how much I liked the 'Clash!' chapter. Put the GameCube game into my Wii, watched the opening movie, and then I'm greeted with "Data is corrupted. Must be deleted". Five out of six save files disappeared, leaving me with an Epilogue. All I wanted to do was to play the final chapter with my poor first attempt of a playthrough
Gave me no choice. Started a new game... went two chapters in. On FE games, there's this sort of 'suspend save' option so you can start back at where you left off. So I did that, it goes back to the main screen, and that lovely data corruption screen pops back up.
Wth.
Put in a different game. Data corruption. Put in Tales of Symphonia and prayed to the gods that it was okay - miraculously, only like 4 out of 56 files were corrupt. But you try to save in a different file and that corrupts. How odd. I didn't dare save over the one I was in x.x
Research: Memory Card 1019 have been corrupting easily when used on the Wii. But the 251 is fine.
Solution: Buy one or two 251s and copy non-corrupt data over.
Problem: The GameCube is quite out of date. Did not want to resort to eBay for this.
My big games, Tales of Symphonia (mostly) and Super Smash Bros. Melee are fine. So is Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion. Did not check Paper Mario, Kirby Air Ride, Bloody Roar, Mario Party 4 & 6 (I'm going to punch something all of these games are gone because they were fully complete.)
RIP Mario Power Tennis TT
Now I'm going to play some FE: Path of Radiance on the 251 card (unfortunately, it has no room for copying any of the other games) and hopefully beating up enemies makes it all better. What a mess of a few hours. ><
