Monday will always be a bad day...

School-wise it was a good day.  I'm actually liking having 2 Japanese classes in one day.  I'm really enjoying Kawamoto sensei's class; he's been printing out interesting articles in the newspaper and bringing them in for us to read.  Now if you know Japanese newspapers, you have to know all your kanji until at least 3rd year middle school (about grade 9).  My manga reading has come in handy because I've learned a lot of kanji through their repetition.  All the teachers have commented on Garrett's and my progress, kanji and just general knowledge.

Actually speaking of Garrett, I learned something random about him today: he participated in the Junior Olympics and ran the 400 m and long jump.  He had to quit because he broke his ankle during the long jump but either way he was in THE Junior Olympics.  Needless to say I was surprised.

However this good day turned bad when I learned my host mom had a headache; you do not want to be in the same house as that woman when she's mad (due to the headache).  She becomes extremely controlling and I'm not exxagerating in the least.  I'll give you a couple examples: Today alone she told me I should change out of my school uniform and into my pjs as soon as I get home...why? no clue.  Then during dinner today while I was eating my spaghetti she told me I have to mix it first....why? again, no clue, I mean, isn't is my spaghetti? Don't I get a choice in this argument? Either way though, she's been in her room for most of the night so I haven't had much interaction with her. Thank God is all I can say.

yay, super smart, host family
