Lesa's Adventures: Doctor's Note

Jun 02, 2008 22:24

Man, after school today I had yet, another adventure. My mom picked me up because I needed to get a doctor's note for work then takes me to my little sister's swimming lesson. Once we got there, my mom tells me where the nearest walk-in clinic was and she says it's near Safeway. I walk and it turns out to be only a couple blocks away. The only bad part was that I found no walk-in clinic in sight. No where. I gave up and didn't know what to do because my mom said she'd pick me up so....I found the nearest book store and went crazy.

I bought 3 new books which ended up almost killing my money. I bought Stephen Colbert's book, 'I Am America', as well as 'The Upside of Down' by Thomas Homer-Dixon, and 'Shake Hands with the Devil' written by a Canadian General who served in Rwanda during the genocide, Romeo Dallaire.

I'm pretty pleased with my latest book selection, but my problem was afterwards. My mom still hadn't come to pick me up and it was already a half an hour past my sister's swim lessons. Then it dawns on me. OMG. There are 2 freakin' Safeways in Vernon. So I flip out and just KNOW my mother meant for me to go to the other one because I KNOW exactly where the nearest walk-in clinic was there. God I felt like an idiot.

So having no other options, I go in search of a pay phone, which have become non-existent with all these damn cell phone users. They assume everyone has one so even store clerks didn't let me use one. So I was completely out of options and had no way of getting a hold of my mother. I was stuck walking home which would've taken me about 2 or 3 hours if my mother hadn't been driving down our road. What luck, huh?

I did make it to a walk-in, got my note, and was able to finish my math homework, read, exercise, and have a great bath. XD I've been doing a half an hour, cardio work out on the treadmill. I definitely don't want to tone and make myself look chunkier. I know my cardio sucks bad because I was doing an elevated jog on the treadmill and was out of breath at 15 minutes. How sad.

Anywho, 2 more full weeks of school left. Who's freak' thrilled by this news? ME!
