Despite the minor plane-shift setback, Wesker was actually quite interested in everything that was folding out before him. Not a fan of the hot weather of course, but everything was made up for by the sheer amount of activity that was bustling about in the ash.

The creatures were nightmarish, but nothing that Albert wasn't used to. In his line of work, monsters were part of the everyday job description. The Tyrant was merely fascinated with one after it had jumped him on the initial go.

Unfortunately, it hadn't survived. A pity, really. Wesker looked down and eyed his hands. It had put up a good enough fight; notable, if anything. He'd file a report after the incident was over. There was no use finding a live specimen without a lab to work in, after all.

A shame.

Wesker tilted his head upwards. Up ahead was another stray wondering the street. He jerked his head, cracking the joints there, and gently wiped his hand upon his coat. Back to the nice guy act, it seemed.

"Are you quite all right?" He extended his hand outwards. "Perhaps we should head towards a more security location?"

She blinked at the man. Tall and quietly imposing, his eyes hidden behind shades, he reminded her an awful lot of Rude. The thought gave her a pang. She couldn't believe how much she missed her colleagues all ready...

"I'm fine," she replied, craning her neck up to look at him. Elena wasn't the shortest person around, but she was still pretty compact.

"I thought I might have spotting something, but..." She eyed the mess on his clothes. "...I'm guessing things might have been taken care of."

"Troublesome creatures. Unfortunately, I had to kill one." Wesker turned his attention away from himself. "I heard that there is going to be a meeting at the church - you think we should take a gander? It could prove dangerous if we were to stay out here."

He had to smile at that; truly, this had been the most entertaining venture since his arrival. Ah, well. He had people to mingle with and information to steal. Time was of the essence.

"Do you have anything to arm yourself with?" Wesker wasn't about to hand over his firearm of course, but he merely defaulted to his officer persona. "I doubt it will be a pleasant walk and I do not want to waste too much ammunition."

She twisted her lip. Impressive, killing one of the monsters by himself like that. And so casual about it. Good thing he was on their side.

"I was just double-checking this place was clear," she answered.

"I had a handgun, but I'm afraid I'm out of ammunition. So I left it upstairs." She patted her hip apologetically, at the place where her holster would normally be. "I was planning to scout the city for an armoury when the chaos dies down."

She felt extremely vulnerable without a weapon, to tell the truth. Unlike her new companion, Elena was full of nervous energy, and she'd been trying to work it off by constantly staying on the move. Even now she was shifting her feet anxiously.

"If it comes down to it, I'll run," she told him. "I'll run very fast." She felt cowardly saying it out loud, but as Reno has once told her, cowards tend to live longer.

"There is no harm in running," Wesker was callous as he spoke, "-but perhaps you should get to that church before anything else nasty comes about." He adjusted his shades with a forefinger and offered what little smile he could muster. "I am sure someone can provide you bullets there - after all, the justice league seems to be in quite high standing. I doubt that they do not have the means necessary to arm some of the citizens, should it seem fit."

Oh, anarchy.

"I'll keep tabs on the streets and cover you, should you wish." Albert turned then. "If you keep up a good pace, I doubt anything will come out to harm you. I'll do a patrol around and make sure the rest of the stragglers make it in time."

From his hip, he brandished his magnum; cocked it once to release a bullet into the chamber. "Do tell me when you arrive - I'll make sure to check in once I am finished."

Elena eyed both his gun and his quiet self-confidence with full unadulterated envy. She really wanted to be the one giving people orders right now, but unarmed and without her colleagues to back her up, she didn't have much of a choice.

Man, being a civilian sucked.

"I'll be okay," she offered. "I'm tougher than I look."

She crouched into a ready pose. "Don't wait up," she said over her shoulder, and sprinted across the street.
