Who: Mitsuo, Max, and Heine [Open to anyone who thinks they can help, or wants to capitalize on the chaos.] What: Saving Mitsuo from an Ogre. Where: Near the Archives. When: Post-Plane Shift.
Heine wasn't about to let anyone suffer any injuries in this rescue attempt. Pulling out both guns, he came to a stop once in range. Without a second's thought he aimed for the back of the ogre's head and fired.
The ogre staggered a bit more, still recovering from Max's maneuver, roaring its pain and discontent. Heine responded with a second shot the head. It turned finally, its attention away from Max and the storm drain, to make its way towards Heine, thunderous steps and extra intimidation all present.
It was about this time that Heine frowned, noticing that the two bullets didn't do much at all other than piss it off. He took a step back, however and took aim once again before firing at the child's upper shoulder.
"Now's your chance!" he yelled over the heavy footsteps and growls. His words were meant for Max so she could hopefully make the rescue and get Mitsuo and herself out of there before the ogre lost interest in him.
Heine fired another single shot, well aware of his limited supply of ammo. Having to reload while an ogre made its way towards you with an intent to kill certainly wasn't his idea of a good time.
Upon Heine's instruction, Max went directly for the storm drain at a sprint. He'd used a gun first; that said a lot to her, most of all that he only had so many shots before having to resort to something else. Whether or not he even had anything else, she didn't know.
Max snatched the grate lining the drain and, with a single huff, lifted and dragged it away from the space Mitsuo was hiding in. The last thing she needed was anything in their way.
Getting down on one knee, she extended her hand down for Mitsuo to take hold so that she could hoist him out.
It's that strong, huh? Not much brains, though. Positioning himself where the shadows were most prominent, Shikamaru formed a seal, watching the ogre's movements. Limited ammo, right? Narrowing his eyes and focusing his chakra, he sent the shadows moving towards the ogre to at least buy the two some time, hoping to bind the ogre down... temporarily. Even with all his techniques in hand, he could only bind something that big and aggressive for a limited amount of time at best.
"Hurry up!"
Did any of the know him? Nahhh. He figured he'd make his appearance a surprise.
Heine glanced to the source of what seemed to be suddenly binding the ogre in place. Well, this was convenient, both for him being able to reload and Max and Mitsuo getting away. However he didn't take another shot, waiting for the two were out of range of the ogre. He pointed one gun at the fire elemental beast once again, but this time he didn't shoot even while it was bound to the ground. Instead he motioned with his other hand to someone or something, muttering "Go."
At that moment the penguin that had been trailing after Heine slowly peeked around its master's leg and lost its hesitance, starting to run towards the ogre several times its size. However, about halfway there is wasn't a penguin, the change so fast it was practically instantaneous. Instead, it was a massive creature that thundered itself the rest of the way before tackling the ogre, teeth going right for its neck with it being held in place.
There wasn't much of a scrimmage to watch, the dog already having sunk his fangs into the flesh of the ogre's. Some struggling occurred, but the gestalt held its prey tighter at the neck, digging front claws into it until the ogre stopped moving.
Well, that was one out of god knew how many others lurking the city.
