She'd started running back when she was finally give a place to meet Itachi at and has continued since. Not to far behind her, her gestalt flutters furiously to keep up with the girl. With just her coat, bag, and Artemis, she found herself passing street by street block by block until finally running up the steps of the archives.
Opening the doors she continues her pace until she finally catches sight of Itachi, coming to a slow and then stop, breathing a bit heavy.
"That wasn't too hard," she says between breaths (mostly to herself), it only taking a few moments for her to stop panting from such a run. She stands a little taller now, looking around the archives curiously. To be honest, she's never seen this place before and she can't help but wonder what it must have looked like back when the city was inhabited. Her winged cat swoops down to land on her shoulder now that she is no longer running like the world depended on it.
If anything, it was comforting to see Yuuki had made her way safely to the archives. He did not find himself underestimating her abilities for survival -- there was a risk and danger for anyone in this city -- but he had found himself concerned over the young girl’s being. When she had came barging in, breathing heavily, he murmured in a low tone, "It's a relief you made your way safely." It was fully sincere despite the lack of emotion in his voice.
Turning his attention from her and redirecting it towards the interior of the archives, he had assumed that there would have been a catalyst that would have let them enter purgatory. The second time he had entered that place was by Caim, and he was not here.
Instead his gaze fell on Yuuki, "I assume you have what you need -- ?" He gazed at her bag and her familiar (His own perched on his shoulder, ruffling at it’s feathers before squawking loudly.)
The heels to her boots click loudly on the floor as she turns a corner down a hall and started to approach them. She looks exactly the same as she always does only this time not on a screen but a physical appearance. In her right hand is her scythe, the one Dan had had for quite some time until he had disappeared to go home.
Lilith approached the two in silence, stopping a few feet away from them. She maneuvers her scythe to let the bottom his the floor and it stand upright. He voice isn't as computer sounding, it's a real voice if it lacks quite a bit of emotion.
She nods to Itachi, but if she had planned to add a verbal response, it never comes. Her attention is drawn away from Itachi and towards the hallway that Lilith approaches them for.
For a moment, there's something about her that intimidates Yuuki (perhaps how tall and lovely and graceful she is), but she can't quite pin it down (perhaps it extends beyond that, perhaps there's something more intimidating about the woman with that scythe that easily rivaled Artemis and had no restrictions to it). The intimidation factor lasts for a few seconds until Lilith speaks to them. Yuuki sighs quietly, glancing to Itachi for an answer to that.
She's ready for whatever is going to come their way, here in this library and there in Niflheim.
"Thank you for your help," she directs it towards Lilith with a small bow.
Smoker wiggled his fingers. Death wasn't as he expected, even if it was a temporary flux of his existence. He could still feel, breathe, think - nothing much had changed, save the empty feeling residing in his chest. It could have been any other day.
Save the fact that his tangible form was half-way to hell in some god-forsaken laboratory somewhere in Nuadoria.
The Commodore frowned and reached for a length of cigar - he found none. Right. Died without his jacket - nice. He licked his lower lip and stood, hands finding the solace of a belt. As he did so, he tilted his head back and let out breath. Nifelheim was cold, dead - as should be expected. The Marine grimaced at his situation and mentally battled how much he hated this place and its politics. Every time something went wrong, he was there to clean it up. It was same shit, just a different day and he took it in stride albeit a bit less forgiving
( ... )
The communicator glowed for a second before a video transmitted to the Commodore's device. Lilith, as promised is there, her surroundings clear enough to be the archives within Nuadoria currently.
"Yes. I advise you to check the upper levels of the archives first." The video disappeared although the transmission still stayed connected, switching from an image of Lilith to a map. Suddenly a point on the map glowed, blinking red. Another dot, a green one appeared on the map, as well. And then finally, two blue dots appeared looking as if they may be also going to the archives.
"Uchiha Itachi and Kuran Yuuki are also within Niflheim at this moment. It may be wise to meet with them before stepping inside the archives."
Two? Smoker's brows knotted themselves; it was hard to understand why anyone else would take this mission on, but whatever. They were here now and while Smoker wasn't the most personable of people, he would figure out the rest of the plan later and try to make nice. He was out of his particular element, that was for sure. And his temper was on thin ice.
"Don't know them," he stated blandly. "-but I guess that doesn't really matter." He wished he had a watch right about now; Kasukabe hadn't given him any sort of time frame for how long he would be knocked out. Smoker knew the very basics - if he were out too long, he wouldn't be coming back any time soon.
And that very reality was worrisome.
Smoker huffed. "As soon as this is done, I expect some damn answers."
Perhaps it was simple luck that a clear indicator of Smoker’s whereabouts was the faint glow of the communicator that illuminated within the heavy desolate atmosphere.
Faintly in his mind Itachi had wondered if Smoker could accompany Yuuki while he searched the area himself (As much as he worked in pairs in the Akatsuki, he found himself awkward and uneasy around those that he was not purely familiar with, or rather, those that had intervened when not necessary.)
Half-glancing over his shoulder, he gave a small nod to Yuuki to gesture her to follow him as they made their way to Smoker. Itachi could see him perfectly, and even how animated the other seemed to be in speech as well as gestures could not go amiss.
However, when they were in a close enough proximity, he stood there silently, allowing the young girl beside him to confirm the man before them. Allowing her to speak first.
They didn't have to go far to hear footsteps coming their way. A set of doors from further down the hall suddenly were thrown open, revealing a young man that may have been once familiar to some. But, the way he held himself, the way he approached them didn't suggest the shy nature that Dai mentioned. In fact, he seemed quite the opposite. There was too little caution and too little hesitance in his step as he headed straight down the hall towards the two of them.
"Where is that bastard?" Caim sounded incensed upon coming closer. His dark eyes were burning (hate, betrayal, and all those positive types of emotions people loved so much in someone). It looked as if the question wasn't even directed towards another and Caim sure has hell didn't look like he planned on stopping for the small group

A hooked thumb released from Smoker's jeans. The cool air bit at his exposed flesh and he casually folded his free-arm across his chest. A nod was given to the other native and the Commodore pivoted his heel a bit. "Outside," he responded, "-being an asshole."
He took a moment to survey his surroundings before speaking again. His temper had finally flat-lined. "I wouldn't be around if it wasn't the last resort given by LILITH." He watched Caim pace down the hallway as if it were made of glass. "But given the fact that the city was going to hell, I think you know exactly why I'm here."
A jerk of the neck, stiffening of the muscles. "I'm not here to chat business, but rumor has it you've left your post." The arm unfurled and Smoker laced his fingers together. "It's left a mess, and I'm not going to have a bunch of innocent civilians traumatized for any mistakes - " And here, he did not tread lightly.
"- and that includes mistakes made by you and yours."
Caim's eyes narrowed, his back straightening in offense to the last comment.
"Is that what you were told?" Caim asked instead of defending himself, his expression twitching. And then Caim was gazing down at Yuuki, shifting his attention away from the other man. His eyes closed, the situation sinking into his mind before he sighed and responded, "Very well.
"You would do well to get back to the city." He turned to head back the way he came, not pausing his pace but adding quietly, "It'll be back to normal faster than you can get there. The exit is outside."
She was surprised by the sudden outburst, initially, and she remained silent when he addressed the Commodore, listening to the exchange between the two. And all she could currently think as she watched them that, compared to the attitude and physical appearance of the Fire Magister this Magister couldn't have been more than a few years older than her himself.
When Caim looked to her, she blinked, staring at him carefully to see if there was anything to read. But, instead, he complied rather easily. All this talk of having to potentially drag him out and he hadn't even said no once in this meeting.

"Thank you for waiting, Uchiha-san."

Did they just get lucky, or...?
