[ Wasn’t it obvious -- ? The dead body laying on the ground in a puddle of blood and guts galore, exposed innards and ribs caved in with ruptured organs and muscle being torn from the skin with Magato towering over it, his skull veiled by the material of his hoodie and leather garb glossed with blood.

It was when he heard the voice that called to him, Magato canted his neck with little interest in Eike’s existence, ( -- his gaze sliding up and down the other’s frame.) and he only let out a sharp bark of laughter. ]

Aah. I know you. [ Pause; realization said that he shouldn’t have expected much from the village idiot. ] -- It’s been a while, babe. [ Another pause, another sharp inhale of breath and the tip of his boot nudged at the lifeless arm that went limp on the ground. ] A little sad, isn’t it. How this was the most important day in his life. [ But sympathies weren’t Magato’s forte. ]

So -- what’s a good-looking guy like you doing in a place like this? A pretty face like yours could be confused with a girl’s, you know. The killer could go after you next. [ -- and his voice was anything less than pleasant. ]

[People had thought that he had killed Eckert's wife when he was standing over her. He had been trying to help her and actually was able to save her on the third try, so he did not see any reason to believe that Magato was not trying to do the same.

He finished his prayer and apologized at the end at how haphazard and clumsy it was. His hand reached out to lightly squeeze the hand of the person, patting the top of it as the blood spilled over onto his own hands and clothes from how he was kneeling.]

It's nice that you remember me, Mister Magato. [Naturally, his tone was sorrowful as he got to his feet. He stared at his hands sadly before wiping them off on his pants, nothing else to do about it.] The most important day of his life? Was it his wedding day? [Mouth opening slightly, he felt even more outraged about this sort of murder as he shook his head. (There has to be a reason for it, and, and I can get them to understand it so no one else need to die.)]

The killer could ... that is a great idea, Mister Magato. [Eike was just thinking of how he could talk to the person and if the individual tried to kill him, then he could easily be the one to explain the wrong in what they was doing.] Do you really think that he just wants a girl? I suppose I could dress up, but I don't know how convincing I would be... still, this person needs to be stopped.

[ It looked like things were actually starting to get good again. And Hazama figured he was kinda owed something good by now - after all the needless shit with the Cauldron, after Eike went and blew it all right out of the water and landed them all here, some temporal fucknut ~hotel~ or whatever the hell it was, it was about time something happened that he cared to understand and give a shit about. That thing somehow ended up being Magato, wandering in right after he settled himself into some discreet corner of the lobby, tucked away in the dark.

Hazama watched in utter silence, from beginning to end. From the very moment that man came into the lobby and drew his knife, he was standing there and listening to the gurgles, watching the blood spill out on the floor, watching the victim's fingers twitch and twitch and the air escaping in damp, reedy, hollow groans. He saw the way Magato's eyes were bulging, his lips spreading open and showing teeth like a body cavity exposing the bone. And Hazama didn't move a muscle, not to make himself known, not to disturb him - because, hey, free entertainment. This was the first good thing he'd seen in quite a while, and he wasn't about to disturb it prematurely.

... Still, this guy was kind of a drama queen, wasn't he. Even with those sad dinky little cutlery knives in his hands.

When the knife whipped out of the dying man, when his ribcage cracked and his guts were allowed to go spilling across the floor, the movements and the weak little sounds finally stopped. He dropped with a thud like wet meat, and Hazama watched the remaining man's bloody ribcage expand and contract beneath the narrow jacket. Enjoying it, obviously, but wasn't it kind of over too soon? He was only just getting into it and BAM, all done, guts all over the place. And it'd be a waste, he supposed, if there weren't plenty more of them around. Gotta wonder why, though. Mindless desire? ... Does it even really matter, if it's funny? And this whole situation, this whole shitty position with this hotel, it just made it funnier, it made it fucking ridiculous. But that wasn't going to stop him enjoying it.

They weren't alone any more, he realised - and anything that guy might do, any hint he might give about it, thaaat just wasn't going to happen any more, was it. Eike seemed to have a natural talent for fucking things up, and at first it seemed like a fluke, but now it almost seemed intentional, like he had some other handy dandy gadget basically telling him how to ruin Hazama's day in the smallest number of moves (well, maybe he was sharing it with Rachel). Whatever Hazama did, whatever he found pleasure in, theeere that little shit was to make it all kinda... unfun. Like now.

... Welp. Time to make his own fun then, right? No point standing there and letting it go to waste. He got up, dusted off his hips, and circled around into view. ]

- If I could cut in, despite the awful smell in here? [ ... Straight into Hazama mode, and it was the politest, most bullshit tone he could muster off the cuff like that. He adjusted his hat on his head, fixed his eyes on Eike for a second or two (yeah, what now?) - then looked at Magato directly. It'd throw Eike off, maybe, but this guy. "Magato". ]

If you crowd around it, we're going to taint the evidence, you know. Don't want a hair of yours showing up at the crime scene; it'll just make it harder to catch the real culprit.

[ He gave the corpse a disdainful look. Eyes rolled up, his skin growing white where it wasn't starting to bruise, he looked about the same as any other body. ]

... Well, I suppose this is what comes of fighting! All that unnecessary fuss...

[ As much as a waste the body was on the ground - dead arties still pumping out crimson fluid lifelessly and limbs settling into stiffness -- Magato had only thought of it as foreplay. Murder was something quick and efficient, and he remembered every kill like it was to be his last, but now that he was dead, then there was no further use of him, was there? Magato wasn’t about to go on hands and knees to ravish the body even further, not when it couldn’t scream, not when it couldn’t struggle; he wasn’t going to play with a lump of roadkill.

A hyena-resembling laugh (Ha ha.) towards Eike’s direction, laughing at him or laughing with him (The former to be more correct.) as the blonde murmured the words of a white wedding, and Magato only inhaled a sharp lungful of oxygen, exhaling it with his words, ] Maybe it was their honeymoon -- what do you think? [ Idle bullshit chatter was always a good pastime, and the suggestion that Eike had proclaimed next had Magato half-narrow his eyes and grin with all teeth at Eike, ] You’d be beautiful, babe. I might get a little jealous, though, dressing up for him. Makes me want to keep you to myself.

[ It was when Hazama decided to join them (He knew he smelt a rat somewhere in the corner.) that Magato’s former words seemed to be dismissed, and Magato turned his direction to the other decked up all high and mighty like that. No one could say that Hazama didn’t have good fashion taste, however. ]

Aah, a peeping-tom -- ? [ Did it really matter if Hazama was looking in on Magato eviscerating and disemboweling the poor, poor doorman? No, to the realize that someone was watching only gave fulfillment and satisfaction in what he did. A execution should never go without a audience. ] That’s an unhealthy habit..

[ With a tilt of his head, he drew his attention back to Eike. His hand toying with the combat knife as his hoister. ] What are you waiting for?

[Everyone responded to death differently. Though, he flinched all the same at the laughing that Magato erupted in. He took a hesitant step back away from him as he wondered when it would sink in that he is seeing a dead body. His eyes closed for a moment, as he took another step back. Looking up in a dazed manner, he nodded dumbly at the man upon the comment of a honeymoon. The initial panic of seeing and able to pray for him set aside, he was suddenly realizing the seriousness of the situation.]

You really shouldn't say things like that... [Eike's voice was weak as he looked toward Hazama. Eyes widening a little at seeing him, he remembered their last encounter and was just about to say something -- an apology, most like -- before his hand came over his mouth. Blood now wiped across his chin and face.] Excuse ... [Muffled by his hand, he stumbled away from the two in order to find some potted plant around the corner so that he could throw up in some peace and privacy. Without causing more of a mess for the staff. Just have to throw the plant out, right?

A bit of dry heaving later he pulled away from his weak pose to return to the two of them. He reached into his pocket to pull out a napkin to clean himself up before he stood before them. And tucked to be put away again.]

I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I just ... oh God. Who could have done this...? [Tears started to form now, odd mixture from what he had just done and feeling beyond torn up for what had happened. Even if he didn't know this person, they didn't deserve to die. Not before their time. It just wasn't right at all.] What ... what did you want me to do?

[ - Well, that was probably inevitable, wasn't it? He hadn't really kept the body in one nice, neat little pile, and the smell was getting pungeant; Hazama watched Eike dash off, and then looked back at the other man, speaking entirely casually over the sound of that retching and the rustling of the potted plant's leaves. At the same time, he removed his hat. So respectful. ] Is it, really? I wouldn't be much of an intelligence officer if I didn't try to stay informed, you know. After all, it's more effective for catching a killer than minding my own business... [ He gave Magato a steady look, just a sliver of his yellow irises visible through his eyelashes. Yeah, see that, you silly bitch? He knows what you are. ] ... except that in this case, he was a little too fast for me to follow. Unfortunate, but it can't be helped.

[ As Eike came back, he smiled thinly, looking him over. Seriously, was he crying now? While he was at it, why didn't he just piss himself? Since he was doing such a great job of shooting fluids in every direction...

... Hazama broke that thought off there, gave the edge of his nose a scratch. Itching? ... But he wasn't exactly in a position to go hunt down whatever was provoking his allergies. Couldn't even kill the source if Eike was loitering around, right, because he'd just bitch and bitch and Oh no Mister Hazama cats are sacred creatures! or something like that. Shitty, flea-eaten feral, probably, or some beloved hotel cat.

Not to be easily distracted, he pressed on. ]

Well. Under the circumstances, we can't have every Tom, Dick and Harry coming across it and defiling the potted plant, can we. Why don't you donate your coat to this stiff, in the meantime?

[ Don't want him to get too cold, after all!! ... Never mind what he said about tainted evidence and the like. Yeah, he was just kidding about that. ]

[ The ear-wrenching sound of Eike’s digestive system making love to a potted plant was just so -- typical. Eike with a soft heart and lack of spine. But that didn’t matter, the smell would only increase in it’s putrid stench and Magato only turned his attention back to Hazama, gaze barely paying any attention to the gestures, but that did not mean that they did not go amiss. ] A man dedicated to his work. I admire that. [ A pause, boredom settling into his features and he only returns that look. The feeling was almost neutral. ] -- I’m sure your wife must be proud of you. [ Ha ha.

When Eike had returned with vomit emptied from his system and blood still smeared over his face like he was the new blonde-bombshell that turned into a new-born killer, Magato only smirked at him. Tears galore, and there was no denying it, Eike would have made the perfect roll for a B-horror movie. ] Your first dead body -- ? It’s always hard the first time… [ But being a born and bred killer, Magato couldn’t really keep to his own words.

-- And, how cute, it looked like their newest company with his green-hair and mafia-resembling get-up was starting to get irritated by one thing or another, but the only thing that irritated Magato was the sheer lack of amusement that was laying low in the atmosphere. ]

You won’t be needing it much longer, won’t you, Eike? [ The coat, of course. Magato had finished playing with the body when it was still breathing, giving charity to it would have been a waste in his clothing and well -- ah, everything else he believed in. ] Can’t forget that you were going to doll yourself up all prettily, can’t you?

[ Another low laugh as half-lidded eyes glanced side-ways to Eike’s direction. ] You want to catch the killer, don’t you? No one can resist a cute guy in drag...

Oh, no, this isn't my first dead body. [Eike lightly shook his head.] It is more like my third. [His eyes rolled up to the ceiling to think about it, and nodded that sounded about right.] But thank you for being so concerned, Mister Magato.

[He lightly tipped his head in thanks for his kindness. A pause as he stared at Hazama for a time before he was able to smile lightly. The way that he was talking to him was the way of before and not that frightening manner. It seemed like his friend had forgiven him for what had happened and things had gone back to normal. His eyes closed for a moment as he let out a sigh of relief. Still, he felt like he had to apologize for his less than kind behavior at that time.]

Huh? My coat? [His eyes opened as he stared between the two.] Oh, that's right. But you don't need to make fun of me that way, Mister Magato. [Unbuttoning and unbuckling his coat, he tugged it off to put it over the corpse carefully.] Hazama is right that this person deserves some sense of dignity. I wonder what their name was ... and if there is any way to save them. [Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his Digipad to stare at the deactivated device. Letting out a soft sigh, he put it away just as easily.]

I really wouldn't know. I never met anyone in drag. That I can remember. [A slight tilt of the head as he tried to remember and decided that no, he did not know anyone who fit the bill of that nature.] Hazama, you'll stay with us, won't you? I don't want you to be in any danger and I feel like that'll make up for how I treated you before. [Threatening, even if it was not possible, to put his soul in a device for all eternity. It wasn't kind and in that black nothingness that left one feeling hopeless, he shouldn't have added to it at all.] I was rather cruel back then and I'm sorry for what I said.

Oh, have I run into a natural flatterer? [ Riiiight, right, right. A real comedian, wasn't he? Hazama waved a hand vaguely, dismissing the comments. ] ... But it's that dedication to the NOL, among other things, that keeps me a bachelor. [ It's reeeeeally hard to get dates when you ruin the lives of most of the chicks you know. Or just kill their parents, or something. Must be a female thing. ] ... Besides. Given your plans for our little friend Eike here, being a lady-killer looks like it's more your bag.

[ He watched as Eike went straight along with it and draped the coat down over the man and his entrails, watched as the still wet blood immediately began to seep through the material. The material almost seemed immediately thinner, adhering easily to the shapes beneath it. When Eike started getting sentimental, wondering about him, Hazama nudged the steel end of his shoe underneath the coat, lifted it up and had an ambivalent glance underneath. Name tag. ] Eccles. [ He let the coat drop again. It was a fittingly cheesy name, right? Nobody who died like this was ever called Brutus.

... Looking at Eike's coat, he started to frown again, his brow knitting, and a feeling of irritation started to well up somewhere in the bones and flesh and muscle under his waistcoat - though it looked more perplexed than anything, on the surface. Right, so he'd go along with stupid-ass suggestions like this - so where the hell was this guy's ability to listen when he needed it? This fucking moron...

He trained his eyes on Eike again at that apology, and the smile that crept across his face was more snake-like than sincere. Oh, there it was, then. Too much to expect him to be polite and keep his shit to himself in mixed company, he supposed. Manners of a common hooker, right here. ] Oh, you aren't still worrying about that, are you? [ Wanna know something? You're not sorry yet. ] Don't you trouble your little blond head about it any further. Wasn't it just a little hiccup on both our parts? [ But you sure as shit will be. ]

... But I'm not going to promise to stay. I'm obligated to alert the hotel's security. [ - yadda yadda, blah blah. Never mind that, at this point, it was fairly obvious that said security didn't really exist. There was a corpse in the lobby. It was getting cold, and there wasn't a helpful soul around. Just three stooges and a stiff. ] And it's an investigator's job to move around! With a killer on the loose, it's going to be dangerous -- and I would hardly want good civilians like you or... "Mister" Magato... to run into any trouble, wandering around all on your own.

-- When it’s due. [ His reply to Hazama seemed to have slipped from his tongue while Eike was talking. Overlaying the blonde’s words with his own acidity taste before drawing his attention to Hazama nudging the fabric so that a glistening blood-covered name-tag was revlieved in the end, and Magato cocked his head in a lazy manner to take a glance at the letter-embedded label. ] Better him than one of us.

[ There was no point in shielding his cruelty between a peeping-tom and a idiot now, was there? But it was better that this man that laid stale in front of them while flesh started to turn into blotchy colours of purple and green with muscles tensing as though rigor mortis was starting to set in. All that was next was the stink of innards under the coat - and faintly, Magato wondered, why would anyone really care -- ?

-- Because he certainly didn’t.

When Eike had addressed Hazama in his inquiry that the green-haired would stay with them, Magato perked his head up in Eike’s direction before speaking, ] Us? [ A pause, the displeasure of Magato spending anytime with Eike while he was still breathing had been clear in his voice, ] Aah -- you want to have me stay, Eike? I have a date with a little birdy. [ AKA: the sleeping girl he had found once he woke up in this dinky-excuse for a hotel. ]

Need someone to put make-up on you? Pick out the right sizes for your hips -- ? [ A crooked laugh. ] I’m sure the hotel staff would be more than ecstatic to make you a grade A model. [ Turning his back to the other two, Magato only spoke. ] What a pleasure, Mr. Officer. -- Oh, and, Eike, green would suit you. Bring out those eyes. [ And with that, he turned to return back to his room, dismissing the whole affair. ]

Eccles. [Eike nods once as he lets his eyes roll up to the ceiling, memorizing the name as best as he could by constantly repeating it. He wants to try to write it in his communicator, but he already found that it was not working before in his room. While he does not think that he could easily forget something like this, he also does not quite trust his memory. After all, he still does not know what cause his amnesia in the first place. His shoulders slump just a little in distress.]

I suppose that it was. [He lets out a sigh of relief, so glad that they are able to put that nastiness behind them. His hand set over his chest as he does feel the cold feeling that came from believing Hazama was angry with him fade.] I don't think anyone was really at fault for what had happened.

I should go and tell someone so that they can -- [A pause as Hazama seems like he would be handling it.] Oh yes, thank you so much. I really, I really don't know what I could say to someone at such a time. [His hands began to twist as he really is not sure what it was that he would say. He feels like if he had just been a little sooner, he might have been able to frighten the killer off.]

You have a date? Oh. I'm so happy for you. [His smile returns easily, quite glad that Magato found another friend.] Girls usually like to have jewelery. [He offers some advice as he remembers his conversation with Dana. His smile fades just a little as he hopes that she is all right, once more.] And to be consoled. They like to know that they're doing a good job and not easily replaced.

[His arms cross, happy for this sort of teasing as it helps the color return to his face. It is kind of Magato to help take his mind off of seeing the corpse. He closes his eyes as he feels a little faint, taking a few steps to the side -- nearly tripping over the leg in the process, but catches himself.] Thank you for the advice, as well. I'll be sure to use it.

[His hands are held behind his back as he looks back to Hazama.] I'm glad that you are here to look out for us, Hazama. I really feel so much better knowing that you are doing so. [Another long, sad stare at Eccles.] Please, be allowed to rest peacefully, and your soul allowed to cross where it should. [Unlike that Fortune Teller. His lips press together before he turns to find a hotel staff member to help him find a dress.]

I'll hopefully see you later, Hazama.
