[ It was, very much so, unfortunate for others to feel displacement within a unfamiliar environment -- but still, Itachi’s own experience was easily adaptable. That is why when he had left his former affair with the newly-acquainted Shimizu and left the proximity where the stench of a dead body lingered, feeling the (immensely) familiar chakra had been a disturbance.

With a expression of caution, Itachi had let his languid steps lead him to follow the trace of the source, fingers coiling around the handle of weaponry up his sleeve; but with each step, familiarly of the being was soon enough recognized.

Fingers releasing his weapon as he saw Kisame, and within a blink of an eye -- without any indication of his existence within the same reality as Kisame -- Itachi was beside and behind his partner; head lowered, words smooth and apathetic. ] It has been a while, Kisame.

[ Tension already starting to weigh heavily in the atmosphere as he leaned against the back wall; arm folded within his robe, the corner of his lips curving into a subtle smirk.

The question that Kisame had inquired about brought mild amusement to Itachi. Of course, he never expected any less from the other’s wariness; a violent thirst of survival was a creature’s nature, and apart from that, they weren’t so different after all. Killing their comrades was unjustifiable, yet the determination to keep their obligations -- no matter how different they were -- secured the control over their deaths.

No matter how much of a terrible death he experienced, it was the one he choose.

His movements were unwavering as red hues slid upwards to gaze at Kisame, and he tilted his head back before shifting against the wall. Silence seemed to have lasted a eternity before he answered in a low voice, undercurrents of dark amusement as he pushed himself from the wall, ]

Finding out if that is true -- [ A pause, words low, ] -- that is what death is, correct?

[ Back turned to Kisame (Undoubtedly, a dangerous position he placed himself in within the proximity of the other, but in a sense, he still considered Kisame as his ally and above all, his partner.) Itachi half-glanced over his shoulder. Limbs set to relax and his features were set to a casual visage. ]

Should I inquire your own involvement concerning your own death -- or do you continue to lack the experience?

[ Red hues in their unwavering gaze followed every moment that Kisame preformed -- from the way lips seemed to tighten at the corners until all that was visible were a set of familiar carnivorous teeth to the blade that stopped scant inches at Itachi's throat. He was unfazed, but that did not mean that Itachi was one to let his guard down.

The possibility of Kisame killing him was nill, (No doubt.) and yet, Itachi believed that there would be no blame on Kisame's part if he decided to carry out the violent intent and physical threat.

Eyes closed -- a heartbeat, a low exhale (Little things that could not go amiss no matter how impassive Itachi was.) -- before he reopened them, listening to Kisame's words with subtle curiosity that was only indicated with the tilt of his head upwards. Chakra already draining from his limbs as the sword near-closed their proximity, and Itachi only fully turned around, directing his attention back to the other.

Death consumed them both, and they were none other than breathing and beating rotten corpses, ]

I cannot say I disagree. [ Still, there was no emotions in his words as he spoke -- unenthusiastic, but he had not been one to contemplate the state of a illusionary afterlife, he had only focused on the reality that would lead up to his death.

Another long stretch of silence before he continued, wariness creeping in his voice, ] You have appeared within the unheard of city of Nuadoria. The city itself had suffered complete destruction; however there is a unphysical entity with motives of bringing individuals from other equivalent realities within its environment [ Pause, ] -- For whatever reason is currently unknown.

[ Movements making their way to pass Kisame, to continue his way down the hallway, ] Sasuke is one of such individuals, [ Voice turned cold, ] I believe you understand what I am willing to do if you mistake that he is not off-limits.

[ Sooner or later, Kisame would have come to the realization that Itachi’s younger brother was in the city. Itachi’s only true concern for that which he had died by and for provoked an irrational consideration for. It was unnatural and unusual to see the Uchiha being so forward to someone else’s being, but what could be unnoticeable that he completely lacked concern for his own.

It went without saying that Itachi would have killed Kisame without any hesitation if his warning went unheard --

They both knew that. But Itachi could praise Kisame for being one with rationality unlike several others that were in their organization.

Despite Itachi’s own belief of pacifism, he was -- first and foremost -- an assigned killer. Being thrown into a world that was nothing but gore piled up in chaotic wars had stained that hope for pacifism since he was a child. ( -- It was strange, that even with the existence of optimism that had fled from Itachi’s mind, that he believed there was still a possibility.)

Kisame’s words had drowned out his thoughts as he inquired the possibility of an illusion, and Itachi had only let out a small soft sound of confirmation that bubbled in his throat. ] Well over a year. As unpleasant as it may be, the experience is easy to adapt too.

[ Languid steps had stopped in their tracks when Kisame commented on the refused invitation Itachi had given him to terrorize Sasuke, but they were brief. Itachi had always restricted Kisame from indulging in his mindless desire for bloodlust, and the disappointment that weighed in Kisame’s words were enough evidence to know that this would be another circumstance he would be limited to again. ]

Am I to assume that you have made yourself acquainted with him -- ? [ His words did not harbor any underlying hostility, but the spark of cold interested in his voice was audible enough to be noticeable and to indicate for Kisame to enlighten him in the affairs that led up -- and after -- this supposed acquaintanceship Kisame had found himself with. ]
