Who: extratemporal, armagus, liketheair and usagggiiii -- and anyone else in the vicinity right now!
What: Shit's going down, and so is Ragna the Bloodedge. Finally, a use for those fighting sprite icons!
Where: The library, because it never catches a damn break.
When: After this thread.

Let's do this.

---------------------

Some dogs bark so much, its like they want to be kicked.

Hazama's standing there in the ancient library, his hat tipped up a little so that he can study the arched dome ceiling over his head, the stained glass streaming bright beams down into the dusty hall and playing light patterns over the discoloured tomes, and somehow it actually kind of reminds him of his home world. The N.O.L., Kagutsuchi, all that crap. Hazama's not exactly a guy with an appreciation for spiritual art and stained glass windows for a lot of reasons, but it's a pretty neat little sight, all that effort poured into something a person could shatter in a second or two, all those nice carved bits of stone a guy could kick over at any time. Why do they even bother.

Still. It almost makes him miss all that rigid, stuffy N.O.L. protocol, the long ornate corridors full of claustrophobic dust and all those soldiers being all "Captain", "Captain" and so respectful and reverent and tiny and insignificant all the time, like annoying yapping dogs... Okay, well, he didn't specifically miss the N.O.L. or Kagutsuchi, and he could live pretty happily without Relius or Saya or Takamagahara on his case with their goddamn bossy expectations and orders...

... Actually, he doesn't miss pretty much any of it, now that he really thinks about it. With some of the things he was bound down to, with all the people and circumstances and observers and overseers doing everything in their power to hold him back, it was all becoming more trouble than it was worth around the time he left. In fact, all he really misses are his plans, everything he'd set up and all the neat, delicate little arrangements he'd been working on for all that time, preparing for the big finale. He's pretty proud of that stuff. And without it, without a clear access to the Boundary or his own Universe in this shithole of a city, how is he supposed to destroy Amaterasu or get anything substantial done? It's all just a big inconvenient limbo he's stuck in.

Well. That's why he's here though, isn't it? Provoking Ragna over his brand new Cauldron, his ticket out of this place. Something of a last resort, and doesn't it just suck when your Plan A is your Plan B, C, and D, too? But hey, it's worth a shot. Don't want all those half-polished plans to just go to waste in Kagutsuchi because he didn't have a bus pass, and it's not exactly the end of things if it all screws up, but it's sure as hell an inconvenience.

Only problem is, this Cauldron doesn't work right now. He knows, he knew it from the moment he put the finishing touches on it, because a Cauldron without souls is just a big old box with fancy lines on it, and the replica rune doesn't have the potency of even a replica Grimoire. No, it'll need a heck of a lot more than he's done so far, and he might have enough power just to smelt, yeah, maybe, although it'd probably just screw it up again - but the idea isn't to smelt, this time.

This Cauldron, albeit still a Cauldron by appearance, serves a very, very different purpose.

The whole not-working thing is just another bump in the long road, but given how pissed off he's been feeling about it, given how limited he's been by the circumstances and how much those idiots have been whining all over the place on the network, he really thinks he's been pretty good about keeping himself back from doing anything particularly rash, like ripping their goddamn heads off. Don't want to screw up the delicate system he's laid out in his world by accidentally shanking someone important and screwing himself over, does he. But lately, though? Lately, it's been getting increasingly obvious that slapping them around a little would do a fair bit of good to their mentality, even if killing them off is still something of a probable no-no. Ragna's been the worst offender since the offset (no surprises there, he's always been one yappy little shit), butting heads with him at every turn, and actually, Hazama's pretty okay with that. After all, now he'll get to test out that cute Azure Grimoire and see how it's holding up, how Ragna uses it, if there's anything behind Rachel's fixation on him or if it's some little distraction ploy, and he won't even have to be the one to chase Ragna down. It's also a hell of a lot better than dealing with Rachel directly, better than risking damage to the 12th Prime Field, failure or not, and Jin, well... wouldn't fighting him end with a two-for-one deal on Ragna, anyway? What's the damn point?

- So yeah, kicking the shit out of Rags is definitely the way to go. And in a way, he supposes that he kinda owes it to him to at least let him feel like he has a hope in hell of getting his revenge... or whatever his current issue with him is. Who keeps track, any more?

Hazama looks back down until the brim of his hat shields his eyes from the light, idly rubs his thumb over the smooth sewn edges of it. Behind him, his anaconda slowly drags its heavy body down from a bookcase to brush his shoulder, and he can feel its tongue flick near his ear, like it's whispering its own anticipation. And now that he thinks about it, it's been a while since it's had anything good to eat, hasn't it?

... Just a matter of waiting, and he's damn skilled in that occupation.
